Dear
Parents:
I would like to
take a moment to introduce myself as your child’s collaborative
teacher. Seven years ago, I came to Mildred E. Strang
with a wealth of teaching and supervisory experiences. I have gained a
great deal of knowledge during my prior teaching positions and realize this
knowledge will be an invaluable asset.
My
education philosophy is based on the foundation that every child can learn if
given the appropriate opportunities. Every child has a specific learning
style, and it is my job as a special educator to find out what works for each
child. I believe that the success of students in any educational program
is directly related to a number of essential components. They include a
professional teaching staff that sets high standards and uses a variety of teaching
techniques, a wide range of course offerings, and the ongoing analysis of
curriculum, as well as academic clubs, interscholastic sports teams, artistic
endeavors, and community service opportunities. Combine all of these
items with an involved and cooperative community and you will find student
achievement at a high level.
I think that
we can agree that parent involvement in the education process is vital to the
success of all students. I look forward to working with you. I
strongly agree that a teacher’s greatest resource is support from the
home. I am positive that over the course of the year we will be able to
build a relationship that will not only be conducive to the academic success of
your son/daughter, but one we can recall in the future with great pride.
During the
first week of school I will be contacting you, by telephone, to discuss some
general items. If you need to contact me for any reason, I can be reached
at school at 243-8100, or by email at [email protected]. I look forward to speaking with you and
thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Mark Grote

Education Teacher
