What's an APA?

APA is short for Amateur Press Alliance (Sometimes "Publishing" is used in place of "Press", but it amounts to the same thing.) The gist of it, in the case of Legends at least, is that each member produces his own fanzine (`zine for short), which can be just about anything from fiction, reviews, general thoughts, sketches, etc. He then makes up a set number of copies - currently it's 15, but as we pull back up to full strength we'll get closer to our original target of 35, making sure that it's collated and stapled if it's more than a single page, and sends these copies to the Central Mailer. The CM takes copies of everyones' `zines, collates them, attaches a table of contents, covers and some other sundry bits and staples them into volumes which are then sent out to all the members and any contributing waitlisters.
