Ambassador's Dispatch
Volume 1, issue 10
August 25, 2001
Hello, friends and visitors,

I've just done some cleaning up and minor expansions around the Embassy. Anything that's been updated's noted on the main page.

        The
Legends area's been redone, now that it's serving as the official site for the APA. Check that out for more as I've included information concerning how we function and why we exist, and even have a link to our constitution if you're into the mechanics of the club.

Speaking of links, that section's also been updated. A little cleaning out, but generally just some new additions.

As of, well, any time now I will become the official Central Mailer of
Legends again, along with still holding the office of president. Getting ready for this, more than anything, was what started me moving on this site again. I'm excited at the prospect of being in that spot, especially as it's just in time for our 15th anniversary in October.

Life continues pleasantly here, though I'm amazed to see the kids' summer vacation nearly at an end.  The late May move means new schools for both kids this year, and so far they actually seem to be looking forward to it. We'll see how long
that lasts. New clothes, shoes, backpacks, all taken care of. A variety of school supplies picked up, even though we know that if we lean towards bound composition books the teachers will demand spiral bound notebooks or three-ring binders, or vice versa. Since one's still in elementary school and the other heading into middle school, we're hoping that one will need one type and the other the other.

         I love dollar stores.

I've let the entire crop of summer movies go by unseen this year. The last one I went out to see was
The Mummy Returns, which I took the kids to. We were all younger and more foolish in those days... The likes of A.I., Planet of the Apes and Shrek - to name three that had passing consideration but were repeatedly shot down as part of weekend plans - will wait for tape or DVD.

Mike Sawin and I kicked some opinions on the recently-concluded HBO series
Six Feet Under over on the Embassy messageboard earlier this week. Feel free to add your own opinions to that or another post, or to start another topic.  A link to the messageboard's among the choices down below.

As ever, drop me a line if this place continues to stagnate between visits. We all need little kicks in the butt from time to time.

                                                                                            Thanks for visiting.
