| My teaching experience in the Republic of South Korea has impacted my professional and personal life more than anyother single event. As I prepared for my career in education at the young age of 21, there were three reasons I wanted to be a teacher. First, I didn't want to leave Montana. Second, I wanted to have a job working with history. Third, I wanted to coach. As I enter my seventh year of teaching in the 2002-2003 school year, none of the above are true with the exception of one SDAIE World History section in my current schedule. My priorities have completely changed and teaching in Korea was one the elements of that change. Teaching English in Korea opened exposed me to the world of language acquisition. In the six years since I got on a Korean Air 747, my passion has been studying how people acquire language. I should devote pages to my experience in Korea, but for now here are a few pictures. |
