Disney Magazine "Hermione Explains it All":

As Hermione Granger, 11-year-old actress Emma Watson is always trying to keep her friends Harry Potter [Daniel Radcliffe] and Ron Weasley [Rupert Grint] Out of trouble. When we talked to Emma, we wanted to know what it was like playing a smart half-muggle who's trying to succeed in the wizarding world.

How would you discribe Hermione?
She's Bossy and has real charisma. She's obsessed with learning and want's to be the top in everything; that's what gives her character. And she's quite protective of Harry.

How are you like Hermione?
She likes  cats, and I adore cats. She's determined and really loyal to her friends, and I think I am. I'm not exactly like her -- I do study hard, but i don't come out on top in everything!

Why do you think it's better to have a cat then an owl?

What can an owl do, other then bring you the mail and poo everwhere? Cats can be a lot more affectionate then owls and are a lot more interesting to play with. I have two cats of my own called Bubbles and Domino.

What do you think is the hardest subject at Hogwarts?

Potions. You know how in science class if you mix the wrong additive, something explodes? Imagine what it would be like if the class were 10 times more advanced... Because it's magic! You could end up doing anything!

What is your favorite part of Hogwarts?

I loved Professor McGonagall's Classroom. We shot it at a monastery. She [Maggie Smith, the Actress playing the Prfessor] had a parrot sitting on her shoulder and a cat walking all over the place. And the symbols on the chalkboard were amazing. The rom had a kind of a misty atmosphere. It looked like the sort of room where anything could happen any minute!
