Watch out USA, I’m coming home…
Well, it is 26 hours until I return to the U. S. of A. There’s not really much to talk about, however, I did want to quickly comment on the amazing weather that Minnesota is currently experiencing. Now, keep in mind that it is still only March. I just checked the National Weather Service website and stared dumbfounded at the number displayed in front of me. Right now, at 3pm (central time, U.S.) it is 81 degrees Fahrenheit (27 degrees Celsius)!!!! Unbelievable. We’ve been having pretty mild weather over here in Scotland as well, with temperatures around 11 degrees C (52 degrees F), but that doesn’t even compare to the heat wave in MN! Wow…I’m still almost speechless. Of course, by the time I arrive, the high temperatures will drop to the upper-50s and low-60s (still not too shabby!). Thunderstorms are also possible for the entire first week of my visit, which is actually fine by me, as I long to hear the proper rumbles of thunder (which are rare over here…rains A LOT, but not too much thunder and lightning to be found.).
Alright, well I should really pop
a sleeping pill and try to get some sleep, as it’s now almost 10pm and I have
to get up at 3am and get ready. My taxi should arrive at 4am and then my plane
leaves at 6am! Oi. That’s way too early for someone who is most definitely
not a morning person. It’s going to be the longest journey ever, as I have to
go to Amsterdam, then Chicago O’Hare, then transfer to Chicago Midway (I have
no idea how that’s going to work
out!), then finally head for Minneapolis. I usually don’t make that many
connections, but I got a great deal on my airfare, so I figured that one extra
plane is worth saving over £100! Alright, well the time is ticking by and I
really need to get some sleep, so wish me luck on my trip…as many of you loyal
readers out there know, I never seem to have an easy, carefree trip. Hopefully
things will change for the better! Bye.
