Movie review

I went to see the movie 300, sans friends. I chose to go solo as I really didn’t feel like my friends wanted to go see it…plus I really couldn’t wait. Well, I loved the movie. The story line is a basic war story; the King of the Spartans, Leonidas, leads 300 of the best fighters from Sparta to battle against Xerxes, the ruler of Persia. As far as story lines go, it’s pretty basic, and you know primarily how it’s going to play out and end. However, the treat lies in the visual aspect of the movie. 300 is visually stunning, with bold colors and CGI effects galore. Even if you don’t like the story, no doubt the camera work and effects will keep your attention. It doesn’t hurt looking at a rippling Gerard Butler for two hours as well! Oooh, I can say that Gerry alone would make this movie well worth the admission fee. Aside from being a great actor (at least I think so), and displaying a five minute nude scene, Gerry spends the entire film in a tiny little leather underwear number and cape. Mmm, now that’s a good movie! So all in all, I would recommend this movie to everyone, man or woman. I’m so glad I decided to go, and no doubt will see this film again in the near future!
