Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…

We finally got our first real snow of the season here in Aberdeen, and I’ll tell you…it’s about time! I had been hearing about how Glasgow and Edinburgh had been seeing snow for the last week or so, and I was beginning to get so very jealous. I saw a few big flakes earlier in the day while I was walking to uni, but there was no accumulation. Then, at around 4 or 5pm, the snow really began to fall. I snapped a picture from my living room window, and you can see that there’s only about ¼ to ½ inch accumulation, but it’s better than nothing in my opinion. I doubt the snow will stick around for longer than a day, however, which is very sad, but all I can do is wait for more to come. From what I’ve heard, it’s not like Minnesota is seeing much more snowfall this winter than Aberdeen, which is a bit disturbing…at least we’ve got the warm Gulf Current to blame for the relative mild winters in Scotland, but what is Minnesota’s excuse?

*sigh* Well, this has been the longest week ever…I finished all of my exams on Friday. I had a Geology exam at 9am on Monday morning, then my Christendom in Crisis exam at 3pm the same day. I got a two day break before I had to take my next exam, which was Vikings at noon on Thursday. To round out my nightmarish week, I had my American Century exam at 3pm on Friday. I just could not get motivated to study throughout the week, so I’m not very confident about what my grades will be. One example is my Vikings class…I only attended maybe five lectures this semester (mostly due to the horrendous teaching staff associated with the class), so I had to teach myself a whole semester’s worth of information in one day (because I did absolutely no studying on Tuesday…my bad)! Now are you getting why my confidence in my grades is so low? Ah yes, one more thing…I put off studying for my American Century class because, silly me, I assumed that it would be the easiest of all my exams to pass. Why? Well, because I’m American, silly. I naturally assumed that because I had been learning American history since I was 6, I would be able to answer any question thrown at me without any problems. Yeah, I so hate it when I’m wrong! I finally looked at the past paper questions on Friday morning, and the first words out of my mouth were “Oh s**t!” The questions were phrased in such a way that there was no way that I could answer any of them. So, from 7:30am, I studied like I had never studied before, but I think it may have been a case of too little, too late for me. Ah well, I won’t begin to postulate what grades I got; I’ll simply wait until they’re posted, a tissue in hand to wipe away that tears that will no doubt issue forth from my eyes. I’m so glad that I’m an optimist, aren’t you? LOL.

Well, I must be off, as I have a busy schedule of vegging out on the couch to return to (hey, no judgments, I definitely earned a break!). I caved the other day and bought the box set of Friends with all 10 seasons (don’t even ask how much it set me back…I really don’t want to relieve the shock!). The day before that, I also bought the box set of my new favorite TV show: 2 Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. It is this hilarious British TV show set in northern England. Again, it cost me more than I care to admit, so I’ll quickly move on. So yes, anyways, I’m only on series 3 of Friends, and have seven more series to go, so I’ll be off. Until next time…
