STOP IT! We (and by we I mean people that agree with me) dont want any more reality TV!!! I think that after the hundreds of reality TV shows that have come out, America has had its fill of it. I do admit that I occasionally watch reality TV, but I have only watched about one percent of all of the reality TV shows that have aired. And by watched, I mean seen SOME of, not the entire series.

What is the explanation of the continuation of reality TV? The general population in America are still stupid enough to watch these shows, and some are even retarded enough to BE on the shows. I know that the one way to be successful in life isnt a college education, but winning on a reality TV show (or at least thats what others may think). Only in America do we take ideas from other countries (i.e. Britain) and explode them into something so ridiculous that America will watch it. In case you all didnt know, Britain is a very media-innovative country, with the birth of reality TV just being one of its many creations.

In any case, Im left with one question: Why do people still watch this shit? I believe that it is the sum of several large factors.

First, the people on the show arent actors, theyre just like us! This close relation between TV and viewers makes the show more appealing.

Second, some people look at a show and say hey, I could be on that, too! This belief could drive people to use any means necessary to get on the show. By watching the show, they are actually studying on how to win the game and outwit the others.

Lastly, the real drama invoked by the shows appeals to many Americans, as we have been taught to be almost comically-interested in the downfalls of others. Theres nothing like a good flare-up of tensions amongst celebrities to get the blood of America flowing.

I do admit that reality TV has its moments, but for the most part is an extreme waste of time to watch. Its amazing how reality TV is still holding strong in the U.S. Weve used up just about every way to exploit people on reality TV without intentionally causing extreme harm to an individual (and actually, extreme harm has already occurred!).

That brings up my final statement; exploitation. As long as people are willing to be exploited to an extreme, reality TV will remain in existence. People are so greedy they are willing to have sex on TV, travel the world with almost no cash or luxuries, eat the grossest things imaginable that are still legally edible, and take the unheeding abuse of celebrities in order to win money. WISE UP, AMERICA! THIS IS STUPID! Instead of ruining your life by being exploited by reality TV, why dont you go to college, GET A JOB, and earn more money in a respectful manner than you could ever win shamelessly on a reality TV show.
