Anna's in the double digits -- where has the time gone?
It was the party of the year at 51 Nicholas Road. (Of course, the year was only 18 days old, but we won't mention that.) Anna had just turned ten, and eight of her friends were on hand to celebrate the start of her next ten years.
"What time is it?????"
After spending the day at the computer, Mary is shocked to learn that she only has fifteen minutes to get ready for the party.
"Say karaoke!"
For the first, and only, time of the evening, the party guests manage to be in the same place at the same time.
After an initial moment of hysteria, Laura remembers the part of the Girl Scout Law that says "to help others" and agrees to stay and help chaperone.
The opening of the gifts . . .
Alexis gave Anna "Regal". (He looks just like Stephanie's dog, Lucky -- and he's very cuddly.)
Stephanie gave Anna a Barbie room. (And then spent the night putting it together for her -- what a great friend!)
Kayla gave Anna silk pajamas. (Very grown-up!!)
Shayna gave Anna a drawing set. (Anna's already decorated her room with some of her new creations.)
Katie gave Anna a "What's Her Face" doll. (Direct from New York City!)
Sarah gave Anna a disco ball with stars. (Perfect for the "rock star" party theme!)
Nicole gave Anna an Old Navy gift certificate, which she used to buy a blazer, matching skirt, plaid handbag, and 10 different kinds of nail polish. (Love those post-holiday sales!!)
Tori gave Anna some Art Stuff from Bath and Body Works (Anna's favorite store) and a necklace from Limited, Too (Anna's other favorite store).
The gifts were wonderful, but having good friends to celebrate with was even better. Thank you all very much!
With the "business" stuff out of the way, the party can begin . . .
