| First Win of the season - 30/05/06 | ||||||||||||||||
| I got my first win of the season at the Hillingdon Duathlon. After all the bad weather we've had recently, we were lucky to have a dry and sunny morning for this run-bike format race. I led the small field untill shortly before half way on the run when second place male came past for a short stretch. I soon passed him back and was first into transition. | ||||||||||||||||

| I'm delighted to say I qualified for the World Championships at the National Championships in Edinburgh. I was a little ill before the race and although I felt ok during the first run and on the bike, I really suffered on the second run. For the first time in my racing career, I spent minutes, rather than fractions of seconds considering pulling out of a race. Also for the first time, I stopped and took a drink at an aid station. On the plus side, my second transition was the 6th fastest in the country! I finished 51st overall and 8th in my age group which I'm pretty happy with all things considered. | ||||||||||||||||
