The
History of the Pacific Northwest
This class will study the region of the
Pacific Northwest, which includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and portions of
Montana and British Columbia. There are two primary objectives: first, to
familiarize the student with both the physical and human geography of the
region, and second, to place the Pacific Northwest into perspective with regard
to the rest of North America and the emerging nations and economies of the
Pacific Rim. Special Emphasis will be placed upon the regions transition from
and isolated frontier region with a resource-based economy to the modern
diversified manufacturing and service economy of the 1990’s.
Every student in my class will be treated with the
respect that comes with becoming a young adult. I ask that all my students be
on their best behavior at all times in my classroom. However, if behavior
problems do interrupt the education process I do have a discipline plan in
place, which includes the Red Card system, Spin the Globes, or lunch detention.
I do consider tardiness a behavior problem. DON’T BE LATE!
