A week had past since I last talked to Paul. I was finally able to go back to my daily routines. I guess I never actually realized how much he affected me. But those three little words plagued my thoughts throughout the day. I love you. I throw those words around so casually all the time. Usually when someone helps me and I say  "I'll love you forever if you do this." But when someone actually means them, it brings a whole new light to the subject.
The phone rang, sending me back to Earth. "Hello?"
    "Hailey?"
    "Yeah, who's this?"
    "It's Paul"
"Oh" I paused "Hey. What's up?"
"Oh nothing really. I was bored and thinking about you."
    "Yeah, me too."
"You were thinking about yourself?" Paul asked
"NoI was thinking about you Paul" I couldn't believe what I said. No, it was finally time that I tell him what happened.
I laid down on the couch as Paul continued to tell me how his tour was going. I twirled my hair around my fingers and I moved my shoulders to get comfortable. My heart started racing as I thought whether or not I should tell him.
"Yeah, and I'm loving this tour so far-"
"Paul, I need to tell you something"
    "Yeah?"
   "I love you"
    "What?" Paul sounded painfully confused.
"I said I love you. I have ever since I first met you. I thought I didn't after we broke up last year, but seeing you again sparked something."
"Oh, why did you wait so long to tell me?"
    "I don't know. I guess I was scared."
    "Of?"
"Us. What would have happened, or wouldn't happen. Dating while you're on tour and not getting to see you. I was scared of it all."
Paul was silent for a few seconds, which made me nervous.
"I love you too," He continued "I was thinking, maybe one day, if you want, you could come out here and hang out with me on tour."
"I would love to, but I don't know how that would go over with work and school."
    "Oh." Paul sounded disappointed
"Speaking of work, I have to get going. I'll try and get off sometime to come see you but it shouldn't be a problem. I'll call you later"
    "Bye, I love you"
"I love you too". It felt so good to say those words again and know that he felt the same way.
