On Feb. 2003 I was contacted by a lady in Oklahoma who had rescued a 4lb abused Boston Terrier and was asking for help. At the time she first contacted me, she said Mr. Buddy had ulcers in both eyes, seemed to have an infected anal sac and had briefly seen a vet.

Today on Mr. Buddy's follow up appointment it has been discovered that this little dog has been brutually sodomized repeatedly.
The abuse was so horrible that the vet was visably shaken and due to the swelling is unable to determine the extent of his internal injuries.
Mr. Buddy also has a hole in the sheath of his penis and other injuries.
Since Lynn has had him he sleeps in a food bowl and is terrified to be touched tho tonight she reports he did give her a kiss and has moved from the food bowl to her pillow.Authorities will be contacted tomorrow to see if they can find the monster who did this to this helpless little dog in the Lawton, Oklahoma area.
What we are asking for now are your prayers for Mr. Buddy and his saviour Lynn.
His anus and all the muscle have virtually been destroyed and he will have to have surgery in the future as soon as he is able.
We see a lot in rescue, but I cannot think of anything more horrendous that the sexual abuse of a small Boston Terrier dog. There is a real sicko out there who would do something this horrible

Just got off the phone with the surgeon. MrBuddy is out of surgery and starting to wake up. The surgery went smoothly. There was a lot of scar tissue. They removed a piece of muscle from MrBuddy's thigh to repair the 2 perineal hernias with. MrBuddy was neutered and his sheath was repaired. I couldn't talk the doctor into letting me see him this weekend but I can call between 9-11 tomorrow for an update and the surgeon will call me on Sunday with an update on his condition. If he has no problems then I can probably go and get him on Monday afternoon.
Needless to say I am relieved that this is over for MrBuddy and he can now start healing. After I got off the phone with the surgeon I thought of lots of questions I meant to ask but for now this is all I know.
Can only imagine how much pain this baby is in tonight but I am sure they will keep him knocked out for a while. He is receiving round the clock care in ICU.
This tiny little Boston Terrier has won the heart of so many people.........please continue to keep MrBuddy in your thoughts and prayers.
Sorry I did not get this posted yesterday but we had a bit of an emergency on a transport and I just ran out of time.

MrBuddy had his eye appointment and appointment with the soft tissue surgeon yesterday afternoon.
The opthomologist said that MrBuddy does have some scaring on his corneas but his tear production was up so very much from his visit 2 weeks ago that the feeling is now he will not have to have surgery on his eyes. The doctor took him off the antibiotic and artificial tears and he will remain on the cyclosporin (Optimmune) for 2 months and then be rechecked again.
The soft tissue surgeon put MrBuddy to sleep and removed his sutures from his neuter and did a rectal exam. He said that everything was healing just as it should heal and unless MrBuddy had more problems there would be no need for additional surgery and is pooping is very normal. He will remain on the stool softener for 2 weeks as a precautionary measure. Since MrBuddy was put to sleep for this exam, the pictures in the car show he was still pretty groggy.
Picture #17 is of MrBuddy and Trish who is now MrBuddy's foster Mom. She is our seniors foster Mom and does a wonderful job of spoiling and taking care of the little dogs. She called last night and said in no time at all, MrBuddy had learned to use the doggie door and is having a lot of fun playing with the other dogs and his toys. She will be working with MrBuddy on his "potty manners" and does a wonderful job training the dogs to potty outside.
So unless something unforseen happens, in about 2 weeks, MrBuddy will be ready for a forever home. We will be posting his picture on our website www.nationwidebostonrescue.org and taking applications.

A little bio on MrBuddy......he is about 10months old now, current on all his shots, checked and on heartworm preventative, neutered and 14.7lbs. He loves other animals and likes to play with toys. He is very affectionate and loves to snuggle and give kisses.
Thanks to everyone who has helped MrBuddy and said prayers for this special little dog. He quickly charms everyone he comes in contact with and is just a special little boy we all have become very attached to now. It is a shame that his pictures do not show the little impish personality he is developing...........can you say "spoiled rotten"?

Mr Buddy found his forever home:
While I listened on a cell phone, Shelley held MrBuddy for the first time this afternoon in the Pittsburg airport. As with all of us who have had the priviledge to meet the "Bud Man" it was again love at first sight, with Shelley exclaiming how precious and how tiny he is.
MrBuddy left Austin bright and early this morning with his back pack packed for his trip on the big airplane to his new forever home. Terry said he was an excellent traveler tho I am sure MrBuddy was ready to stretch his legs after his long ride in the Sherpa bag.
While this is an ending to our part of sharing our lives with MrBuddy, for MrBuddy and Shelley it is a new beginning and a life full of love and adventures.
Have a great life MrBuddy Taylor. You have touched the lives and hearts of so very many people. We will always remember what a wonderful little dog you are..............to say you will be missed is truly an understatement!
