In the history of California there have been a lot of different things that have happened. I am going to tell you about my Mission.  My mission name is San Francisco de Asis.  You will like my information.

The name was after the founder of the Francisco religious order, Saint Francis of Assisi.  That is why they named the mission San Francisco de Asis.

To get to my mission it is 1 hour and 30 minutes.  You go south to get to San Francisco.  Then you go to Sixteenth Street.  Then you look for the number 3321on that street.

My mission was made in October 9, 1776.  The mission is the best mission I have.  That’s my mission that I like.

My mission was made of adobe.  It is 114 feet long and 22 feet wide.  It has tile roof and tile floors.  The mission is big.

The Indians that lived there were called Costanoan.  They were the ones that lived in my mission.

They chose it because it was good for farming and it was sunny.  It was good to introduce European ways to the wilds of Alta California.

In 1845 the mission lands sold during the next few years.  The land was used for bull and bears fights, duels, horse racing and taverns.

Nothing was ever the same after the discovery of gold in California.  The population of the sleepy pueblo rose from a mere 900 to 20,000 in only a year.  The people stopped at San Francisco de Asis.  This changed the mission forever.

Jobs were given to both men and women.  In addition to cooking, the Ohlone women made baskets, soap, and cloth.  The women used to fabric to make clothes for the men, children, solders, and themselves.  They made wool blankets for the people.  The Spanish taught the Ohlone men how to farm, raise livestock, and create goods for trade.  They had a hard time working.

This is the entire mission San Franciso de Asis.  I hope you like my information of it.  That is all for now.
