Today I’m going to tell you the report
that I made of mission San Jose de Guadalupe. It’s about history. I hope you
enjoy it.
They put
my mission, Mission San Jose, because they found a sing in the roof that said
mission San Jose de Guadalupe. That’s why they called my mission; mission San
Jose de Guadalupe to mission San Jose de Guadalupe.
The Indians that lived there before where called costodian Indians. They worked on carpentery, sewing, and making sheos.
My
mission got money by the women working on making dresses, knitting, weaving,
broidering, landering, and cooking.
Some strong women would grind flour or carry bricks that weighing 55 lb
each. The men worked on doing jobs. That’s how my mission got money.
My
mission was founded in 1797. When thirteen other missions were already found.
Fray Fermin Francisco de Lausen founded
Mission San Jose, under other missions.
My
mission was build by first making the church, and then with an area in the
middle, and there was a simple building with three windows. The ceiling was 24
feet high, four feet for the walls. In a earthquake in 1808 they decided to
shorten the bell tower. The mission was built in 1809.
In case you want to go to the mission I’m going to tell you
where is located. It is located in Fremont California 43300 Mission Blvd. If
you want a clue here it is, Mission San Jose is near San Jose.
My
mission location is there because the missioners wanted to keep it further away
from the city of San Jose, so the Indians would be tempted to be travel to the
mountains.
There
was an earthquake in October 21 1868.Then some people went to live in Fremont
in 1956. In 1982 was begain to be constructed again. Then when it was finish
that was in 1985.
In the
early 1900’s all that was left was the padres residence wing. Then a small
musiam building was opened. They put the mission stronger by using tools.
I hope
you like my report. I’m going to remind you again about my mission’s location.
It’s in Fremont, CA. It’s near San Jose.
