MISSION SAN JOSE
Today I’m going to tell
you a report about mission San Jose. I’m going to tell you where it is located.
I’m also going to tell you why was this location chosen. That is not it! There is more like when was
it founded, why it has that name it has, which Indians tribes lived there
before, who founded the mission, how was the mission built and lots more. This
is a great mission! I hope you like it.
My mission was located at the
western approach to the Central Valley. This location was chosen because it had
more Indians convert than any other California Mission. Mission San Jose de
Guadalupe was founded in June 11th 1797. Father Fermin Lausén, president of the Missions, founded it. It has this name because in honor of St.
Joseph, husband and protector of Mary, the mother of Jesus. The town was named San Jose 20 years
earlier.
There were Indians that lived
there before. They had their own ways
to get dress. My mission was made with
wood and it was made in 1795. That is
along time ago! Now my mission is
old. You go to the mission it will
probably be really pretty. It is
amazing how a thing from a long time ago and you could still see it.
I just told you
information about Mission San Jose. I
hope you liked it. If you want to know more go to a library or visit the
mission. You visit it at Western part
of the Central Valley. I hope you have
a great time!
