I’m going to tell you about a mission. This mission is called San Buenaventura. I’m going to tell you what had happened hear at this mission. So get ready. Count to three and then star to reading.  1, 2, 3, go....

My mission is a famous mission. It has been there for a long time. I will tell you what happened. My mission had been there for thousands of years. Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo told Junipero Serra to build missions.

San Buenaventura was the sixth mission founded. It was never destroyed. The Indians that lived there were called Chumas. San Buenaventura is almost by Santa Barbara.

Do you want to know why are they famous? I will tell you why.  San Buenaventura was famous from the old times.  I will tell by coping from the Spanish people. It is like Christopher Columbus cuss and see there was land.  It is almost like that.

What are they doing today at my mission?  There are a lot of things. Today Mission San Buenaventura had a busy throws shared. And you can visit the mission. That is what I think is happening in the mission.

I have to tell you one thing for sure. The mission burned down in 1893. Restoration began in 1957 has returned the church as much as possible to its 1812 condition.
