| Belvidere Defeats North Warren 39-30 (Belvidere NJ 01/08/2003) Belvidere dug a big 12-0 hole forfeiting the first match 140 lb to Shane Crone of North Warren then at 145 lb Ross Hutchison from Belvidere got caught and pinned by Doug Anderson. Joe Fielding finally got Belvidere on the board with a 7-4 dec over Rob Kobus. Fielding scored a takedown and 3 backpoints in the first period and never looked back. Seth Wisner added another 3 with a 12-5 Dec over Eric Foley falling behind 2-0 Wisner reversed Foley to his back for 2 back points. Second period started nuetral Wisner recorded another takedown and more back points. Wisner rode Foley to victory giving up a reverse late in the match. at 171 Brent Rader tied the bout at 12-12 by overpowering Zach Dorland after a back and forth match Rader led 7-5 when he turned Dorland for the fall in the second period. The lead was short llived as Bob Kardell pinned Jim O'Neil late in the third period giving North Warren a 12-18 advantage. Jeff Case continued the North Warren assault pinning A.J. Kowaleuski in the first period at 215 lbs. 275 lb Mike Fruncillo stopped the North Warren tear by pinning Rob Guaracci in the first period. Freshman Jesse Lyons recorded his first varsity victory with an overtime decision over Kyle Jablon , Lyons leading 9-4 in third period allowed Jablon to slip out of a cradle for a reverse and 3 back points to tie the match. Lyons won the match when Jablon was called for scissors to the head violation. North Warren forfeited at 112 to James Rader giving Belvidere the lead 27-24. at 119 Matt Bocchino was taken down in the final seconds of the first period by Bryan Lasso and gave up a point for a backward slam. Lasso then held on giving up a stalling point to win 3-1 tying the match 27 -27. The lead was taken back by North Warren's Kevin Bedell at 125 lb dec. Adam Herb 6-4 Herb Led 4-1 after the first. Bedell chose bottom to start the second and reversed Herb to his back for a five point play making the match score NW 30 Bel 27. At 130 lbs R.J. Pursell put Belvidere ahead for good pinning Mike Buttman in the second period. Kyle Quick Added to the lead at 135 Lb pinning Eric Lietner as the buzzer sounded ending the second period. Belvidere is now 2-0 North Warren 1-1 |
