Marauders pin County Seaters

MOUNT OLIVE TWP. - Mount Olive rolled to a 43-20 victory over Belvidere in a non-conference wrestling match on Saturday as the Marauders upped their overall record to 13-3 in a prep for the this week's NJSIAA state team tournament.
With the competition against the County Seaters starting with the 112-pound weight division, Sean Quigley-Shann got the Marauders off to a strong start when he showed James Radar the gym lights with one tick remaining on the second period clock. Sean Santella (119-pounds) and Ryan Vernay (125-pounds) followed with back-to-back wins by decisions and the Marauders had a 12-0 lead. After Belvidere snapped the string at 130-pounds, Mount Olive received back-to-back pins from Dan DiColo (135-pounds) and Matt Pavlisko (140-pounds) to move out to a 24-3 lead.

Mount Olive dominated the upper weight classes after Chris Hoyt posted a 10-0 major decision over Seth Wisner at 160-pounds. Frank Jobeless flattened Jim O'Neill 1 minute, 33 seconds into the 189-pound bout and Dan Priest needed only 1 minute, 8 seconds of the 215-pound battle to touch A.J. Kowaleuski's shoulder blades to the canvas. In the 275-pound meeting of the heavyweights, Brian Seaman wrestled to a 5-2 decision over Mike Fruncillo.
