Photographs from the cross country road trip, July-August 2002
Yosemite National Park - California
Yosemite was our last destination among national parks, but we spent longest time there climbing some of the best known routes on the granite. The world famous rock amphitheatres of El Cap and Half Dome decorate the views here with their incredible size and vastness. Everything is so big and majestic in Yosemite that anyone can lose his/her perspective.
Arches National Park - Utah
Utah's one of the most scenic parks, Arches has the highest concentration of natural arches created by weathering on the rocks for billions of years. The sculptures of rock are such breathtaking views that we can not find anywhere in the world.

Yellowstone National Park - Wyoming
Yellowstone is inside rocky mountain range and famous for its volcanic rocks, geysers, natural beauty and bears. This park attracts thousands of vistors but still remote and spectacularly beautiful.
Badlands National Park - South Dakota
Badlands is one of the most strange national parks in US. Natural elements created weird features in the rocks and soils of the park which are so unique and amazingly beautiful that we were simple spellbound. The prairies and wild lives were also great attractions.

Bryce Canyon National Park - Utah
Bryce canyon is another natural wonder of Utah. Natural forces used all its artistic touches to create the fins, hoo-doos and canyon features. Red sandstones and natural sculptures offer wonderful photography opportunities.

Canyonland National Park - Utah
Being a close neighbour of Arches national park, this park does not get much attention. But the deep canyons and rock features here are so huge and fill the vistas to the horizon that anyone will be surprised to find him or herself in the true wilderness of the west.
Capitol Reef National Park - Utah
Color of rocks in Capitol reef is the most majestic and spectacular. Nothing comes close to its beauty.

Grand Canyon National Park
The most visited and probably the most famous national park of US. We went to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Then we walked down into the canyon following the North Kaibab Trail and spent a night camping inside the canyon. It was a terrific experience to feel the grandeur from deep inside the canyon. The summer heat was unbearable inside the canyon, but views were spectacular.

Death Valley National Park - California
This savage place is named perefectly well. The lowest point on western hemisphere is here. The temperature reached 120 F when we were there. We did not even imagine to camp there, but there is an amazing beauty in that hostile world.

South Dakota
Crossing Missouri river, spending a night in a small town called Mitchell and visiting the famous Mt Rushmore - we had a wonderful time in South Dakota.

Devils Tower - Wyoming
Devils tower in Wyoming created by volcanic activity is an amazing tower of rock. We did not have time to climb any route, but scrambled up to the base of the tower to have a closer look at the routes (all the routes are 5.10 or above).
Grand Teton National Park - Wyoming
Something close to the Himalayas in USA - yes, that's Grand Teton. High peaks, savage scenaries, hanging glacier, spectacular lakes and a sense of remote hostility - all sum up to a paradise for climbers. We, again, had no time to climb anything. But I like to go back to Teton sometimes for a climbing or skiing trip (Jackhole Hole ski slopes situated here, too).
Monument Valley - Utah-Arizona border
Remember Forrest Gump? Tom Hanks ran on this road in that movie. We were delighted to stop our car here and feel the grand vistas of the monument valley. Incredible views.
Utah - on road
Anywhere in Utah is so majestic. These photographs just capture a little snapshot of this majestic state.
Sequia National Park - California
This is the home of the largest living creature on the earth - the giant Sequias. The Sequias are not only big, but majestic and beautiful. We also had a close encounter with a wild bear here.

Las Vegas
We had nice get together in Vegas as four of our friends came in Vegas to meet us.
San Francisco
I fell in love with San Francisco as soon as I saw it. In my opinion, it's one of the best, beautuful and lively city in US. Here are some of the snaps of the city.
