Benchmarking
Benchmarking is a tool used by companies to compare their performance and identified the opportuniteis for improvements. It is an excellent quality tool since it helpls the identification of current gaps in performance and processes. Very improtant thing to consider while conducting a benchmarking effort is to avoid concentrating on only the numbers, but how do partners got to those level of performance in achieving these numbers.
Performance Measures is a method used by organizations (though could be applied on any systesm) to know where do they stand and try to set goals and objectives in order to improve. Currently one of the most common techniques used is the Balanced ScoreCard (BSC). BSC doesn't concentrate only on the Financial aspect of buisness but also include the Learning & Innovatoin, Buisness Processes and Customer Satisfaction.
Process Imrovement
Process Imrovement is used to improve the quality and enhance productivity and effeciency. Process Imorovement is very essintial in quality improvement efforts since any system consists of many different processes. The idea is to question how much improtant and adding to value each step. The question why ? who ? when ? where ? and how ? need to be asked to identify the need of each step in the prcoess.
Surveys
Surveys is a tool used to measure the level of satisfaction of customers either internal or external. Usually the objective of surveys is to identify areas for improvement. Surveys can provide huge quantity of data that needs some statistical analyses to draw some conclusions out of them.
