Sue Whitehouse

Sue has been working with glass for approximately 8 years.

Lampwork Beads

Sue has attended a lampwork bead workshop where she learnt to make beads.  Using Italian Effetre (Moretti) soda lime fusible glass rods, held over a propane hot head torch, handcrafted beads are created.  Beads can be decorated with gold and silver, minerals and specialty glasses to create stunning and unique effects.  The beads are then annealed in a kiln for lasting strength and durability.

Stained Glass Using the Copper Foil Technique

This technique was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900’s.  Pieces of stained glass are joined together by using adhesive strips of copper instead of lead.  Then the pieces are soldered together to create intricate patterns.

Silk Scarves

Sue creates beautiful hand dyes silk scarves using special dyes imported from France.
