| Chapter Twenty-four: The Crest of Emotion |
| Shocamon awoke and looked around. Much to his horror, none of the humans were present! Only the eight Digimon were asleep in the clearing near Cincomon�s castle. Shocamon scowled, charged his electricity, and shocked the rest of the group into consciousness. �Bah!� Moosemon cried. �Shocamon, I didn�t� where�s Darren?� The Digimon searched their surroundings, but there was no sign of their missing Digidestined. �You idiots!� Shocamon cried, running to the front of Cincomon�s castle. �They�re all gone now! It�s up to us!� �But we can only Digivolve to champion, Shocamon�� Salamon reminded him. �So we Digivolve to champion!� Shocamon announced. �And we fight until death!� �Hey, what�s wrong with Onomon?� Tridemon asked, poking Onomon with his trident. �He must still be out from that hit to the head.� Shocamon pointed out, studying Onomon�s unconscious form. �I guess so.� Slythamon mumbled. �We should get going.� Eaglemon stated, pushing some foliage aside and stepping out towards Cincomon�s castle. �I don�t want Kerri to spend one more second in that hellhole.� �Agreed.� Shocamon said. �We�ll leave Onomon here. He�s no use to us if we take him.� �Yeah.� Tridemon agreed, as the six Digimon followed Eaglemon towards Cincomon�s castle. As Eaglemon approached the door of the castle, a quite unexpected sound came from behind them. �Money Shot!� Katonomon had appeared from the forest and fired a salvo of white balls of energy at the group. The entire group moved aside, with the exception of Eaglemon, who turned, held up a wing, and shielded himself from the attack. �I applaud your acting skills, Cincomon.� Katonomon commended, talking to �Eaglemon�. �But there�s no point hiding it now.� �You�re right.� Eaglemon spoke in Cincomon�s voice. �I�ve achieved my goals. Your deduction was intelligent, Katonomon, but it was too late. Now, all of the Digidestined are in my castle, to be executed soon.� �It was Eaglemon�� Slythamon trailed off, staring at him in shock. �We�re not gonna let you touch them!� Katonomon challenged, stepping towards Cincomon. �You don�t have a choice.� A voice called, as a humanoid figure grabbed Katonomon and threw him into the ground. The rest of the Digimon looked up at this new Digimon. It resembled Commandomon, except he was wearing a helmet, grey protective body armour and on his belt many grenades and guns were visible. He was also carrying his rifle. Eaglemon laughed and transformed into Cincomon. �Digidestined, meet AlphaCommandomon.� Cincomon introduced. �He�s a special forces operative, my second in command, and the Digivolved form of Commandomon.� �So you Digivolved�� Salamon stated. �Pretty neat trick for someone so dumb.� Suddenly, Salamon felt a heavy blow to the back of the head. She fainted. |
| Salamon awoke in a dark, damp prison cell, with a glass sheet in the place of bars. She looked around and found that the other Digimon were also with her. She looked across at the other side of the hallway outside to find a similar cell containing a reptilian Digimon and a red insectoid Digimon, both rookie level. Salamon approached the glass. �Excuse me�� She piped up to the pair. They both looked at her. �Hi!� The reptilian Digimon spoke. �You�re Agumon and Tentomon, aren�t you?� She said. �I�ve heard a lot about your species.� �Yeah.� Agumon, the reptilian Digimon replied. �We�ve heard a lot about Salamon, too.� �Thanks�� Salamon trailed off. �By the way, where are we?� �This is Cincomon�s updated prison cell.� Tentomon, the insectoid Digimon informed her. �It�s for Digimon that are constantly trying to escape.� �Oh�� Salamon grunted, turning back the rest of the group. She was surprised to see Eaglemon amongst them, gagged and bound. So this is�the real Eaglemon. Salamon thought, approaching him. She untied his bounds and took out his gag. �Eaglemon!� �Huh? Oh!� Eaglemon cried, waking with a start. �Salamon! They got you, too?� �Cincomon was pretending to be you.� Salamon informed him. �He infected everyone in the group with a virus.� ��I know.� Eaglemon admitted. �He told me of his plans when he threw me in here. He then had his guards lead him to the Digimon prison cell as me.� �Come on! We need to get the rest of the guys awake!� Salamon shouted. �Then at least we can come up with a plan!� Eaglemon nodded. �Right!� The two of them set about awaking the rest of the group, shaking them violently and calling their names. When all of the Digimon had awoken, Salamon sat down. �So guys, what are we gonna do?� She asked, looking around. �Well first I wanna know how Onomon knew it was Eaglemon.� Shocamon said. �Yeah, good idea!� Moosemon agreed. �Tell us, Onomon!� Onomon sighed. ��Okay.� He started floating and approached the glass, looking out. �Well, my first major clue was that it was one of the six people that was with Kerri when she was attacked. It was either Kerri herself, Darren, Audrey, Moosemon, Slythamon or Tokonomon.� �He�s become Tokonomon?� Eaglemon uttered. �Wow, he�s done his homework. Not many people know what my in-training form is like.� �He�s also become MetalAbdulmon.� Shocamon said. �What!� Eaglemon cried. �Aww, dammit! He ruined the surprise�� �Eaglemon, calm down. Onomon�s talking.� Slythamon consoled. �But, I�� �Continue, Onomon.� Slythamon pleaded. Eaglemon looked down at the ground in thought. �Well, my second big clue was when Audrey gave her account of what had happened.� Onomon continued. �I asked her if the taps were on after Kerri was attacked.� �I still don�t see how that helps.� Shocamon argued. �Think about it.� Onomon replied. �If the taps were still on, it must mean that Cincomon approached her from behind while she was using the sink. If she was still using the sink, it must mean she saw him in the mirror before he transformed. If that was the case�� ��Then it automatically eliminates all the Digimon, because we�re too short to see over the sinks!� Shocamon exclaimed. Onomon nodded at him. �With the exception of two Digimon, Tokonomon and myself, as we are both able to fly. But it still could have been one of the humans, so I had to think even harder. And this was all assuming that Audrey was telling the truth.� �So what was your third big clue?� Salamon asked. �I had now narrowed the list down to four suspects.� Onomon explained. �Darren, Audrey, Eaglemon, or Kerri, because she could have been faking the incident.� �Of course.� Tridemon spoke. �My third clue was when Kerri and Andrea left the group. I realised that Cincomon would try and lay the blame on someone else. He picked Slythamon. And Salamon was there to provide the perfect alibi.� Salamon blinked. �I was?� �Yes.� Onomon confirmed, floating towards her. �While you were looking for Andrea, Eaglemon sneaked off and infected Audrey�s crest with the virus. Then, he ran back to you and you both returned to the group.� �What happened, Salamon?� Slipmon asked. �I�I was upset.� Salamon replied. �Upset from losing Andi. I was looking for her, and then, the next thing I know, Eaglemon comes up to me and says he can�t find Kerri and that it would be best to return to the group.� �You knew nothing of him infecting Audrey�s crest.� Onomon replied. �In fact, nobody did, and because Slythamon was closest, we all naturally suspected her.� �Damn Cincomon!� Slythamon hissed, rearing her head up from a bowed position. �I�ll teach him to try and make a scapegoat of me!� �A few other things bothered me about Eaglemon too.� Onomon said. �Like how he knew his way, perfectly, through the forest, even though he�d only flown over it once as MetalAbdulmon. No offence to MetalAbdulmon, but even he isn�t intelligent enough to memorise the best route through a forest in one fly-over. The other thing that bothered me was how Commandomon always seemed to know exactly where we were going�or should I say, exactly where Eaglemon was leading us.� �It all seems so obvious now�� Shocamon mumbled, looking down. �Thanks for explaining, Onomon.� Salamon thanked, smiling at him. �It�s okay.� He replied, before lowering his voice to a whisper. �Now, we need to get out of here. Any plans?� �Let me try.� Salamon said, approaching the glass. �Like I said, I have my ways. Everyone hide!� The other seven Digimon all hid in the shadows of the cell and watched as Salamon began to glow white. �Salamon Digivolve to�Gatomon!� Gatomon began grooming behind her ears and gently purring as a Bakemon guard crossed the cell. He peered in through the glass at Gatomon. �Aww, what a cute kitty�� The Bakemon mumbled, before unlocking the door of the cell and walking in. �What�s a sweet kitty like you doing in jail?� Gatomon answered him with a meow and walked to the corner of the cell. �Come here so I can pet you.� The Bakemon said, approaching her. She looked at him with a cute expression, before it melted into one of anger. �Lightning Claw!� She cried, slashing him quickly and watching as she split into billions of tiny particles. She groomed one last time, before grabbing the cell keys and running out of the cell. The rest of the Digimon emerged from the shadows and followed her. �Hey! Gatomon!� Agumon called. She looked back. �Do you mind letting us out?� �Okay.� Gatomon agreed, approaching their cell and unlocking it. The two of them emerged. �Thanks.� Agumon spoke. �We�d love to help you fight Cincomon, but we�re too weak. We barely have the energy to escape.� �It�s okay.� Shocamon replied, turning and running off. �Maybe we�ll see you some other time. Later!� �Bye! Thanks guys!� Tentomon called after them. |
| �Where are they?� Shocamon cried, looking frantically either way at the intersections. �Look here!� Slipmon called, and the rest of the group crowded around him. He was standing before a map on the wall. �Nice find, Slipmon!� Eaglemon congratulated. �Let�s see here.� Shocamon mumbled, more to himself than to the others, as he studied the map. �We�re in this building here. Ah! There was an extension added to this building recently, on the roof.� �Hey, that�s the room where I found the machine that controls the crest virus!� Slipmon exclaimed. �That�s where they are, then!� Salamon cried. �I�d bet my collar on it!� �I may just hold you to that, Salamon.� Eaglemon replied. �Then you�d have to walk around naked.� �I get your goggles if I win?� Salamon asked. �Deal!� Eaglemon replied, and the two shook wing and paw. �Come on you guys, shut up and follow us!� Moosemon called to them, as the other five ran down the corridor to the stairs that would supposedly take them to the upper level. Upon reaching the stairs, the eight Digimon heard voices above; the unmistakable voices of Cincomon and AlphaCommandomon. Salamon turned to Eaglemon. �You owe me goggles.� She said, smiling. �I�ll buy you some next time we�re at a goggles shop.� Eaglemon replied, annoyed. �Forget that, let�s go! Our Digidestined our in trouble!� Shocamon cried, as he and the rest of the group ran up the stairs. |
| �Shocamon Digivolve to�Fusemon!� �Onomon Digivolve to�Katonomon!� �Tridemon Digivolve to�Novadramon!� �Eaglemon Digivolve to�Abdulmon!� �Moosemon Digivolve to�Wumon!� �Salamon Digivolve to�Gatomon!� �Slipmon Digivolve to�Hereticmon!� �Slythamon Digivolve to�Serpemon!� �Well, look what we have here.� Cincomon said calmly, turning to the eight champion Digimon as they stormed through the door. �Looks like the Digi-team is complete.� �Huh?� Fusemon grunted, looking at the end of the room. The eight humans were encased in separate glass pods at one end of the room. All of them seemed to be conscious and unharmed, and all of their crests were now infected with the virus. At the opposite end of the room, immediately behind Cincomon, was a large computer panel with a lot of flashing lights and buttons. On the wall itself were the eight crest emblems, each within one eighth of a square computer monitor. �None of you can Digivolve to ultimate now.� Cincomon reminded them. �It�s over.� �We fight to the death!� Fusemon challenged proudly. �Then you will die a foolish death.� Cincomon replied. Fusemon ran up to Cincomon and tried to hit the foe across the face with his cannon, but he blocked and returned with a punch to the stomach. Wumon charged Cincomon and headbutted him, but the charge seemed to affect him none. Meanwhile, Novadramon ran towards AlphaCommandomon as the foe shot at him. Novadramon ducked and dived for AlphaCommandomon�s leg, causing him to stumble. Hereticmon hit AlphaCommandomon across the face and he stumbled back, as Novadramon stood and helped Hereticmon grab AlphaCommandomon. �Go, Katonomon!� Hereticmon shouted. �Money Shot!� Katonomon cried, firing a salvo of white energy balls at AlphaCommandomon. The foe looked up in defiance, and with surprising strength, lifted Novadramon and Hereticmon, banged their heads together, before using them both as shields against Katonomon�s attack. Both were damaged, but lived. AlphaCommandomon threw them aside. �Snake Pulse!� Serpemon announced, firing a white shockwave from her body at AlphaCommandomon. He shielded the attack and then fired some bullets at her from his rifle. She managed to barely avoid the stream. Abdulmon flew above the fight, looking down upon Cincomon. He prepared his attack. �Mega Wing!� He proclaimed, firing a red ball of energy at Cincomon. The enemy shielded, but was hit in the face by Fusemon�s hefty cannon. Fusemon then kicked Cincomon back into the machine. �Antler Shot!� Wumon cried, firing his antlers forward. �Mega Wing!� Abdulmon repeated, firing another attack at Cincomon. �Shockcannon!� Fusemon shouted, firing two balls of energy at Cincomon. Much to their surprise, Cincomon�s hand transformed into a reflective surface. He used the mirror to reflect Fusemon�s attack, which in turn destroyed Wumon�s and Abdulmon�s attacks and then hit Fusemon, who flew back into the far wall, near the pods. Wumon charged at Cincomon, but the enemy merely threw him back into Abdulmon. |
| Who cares if Serpemon gets hurt? Audrey thought. I don�t need her anyway. What�s the point of saving the world? Tim mused. We�re all gonna die at some point anyway. It may as well be soon. Stupid Abdulmon could never get anything right� Kerri thought, looking at her companion in complete disgust. The feeling of apathy was constant in all the Digidestined, except one�Andrea. Gatomon�Gatomon? Gatomon�s fine. There�s nothing wrong with Gatomon. But she�s getting hurt, she needs my help! She�s fine by herself. I�m sure everything will be okay. What�s this I�m feeling? |
| Gatomon ran towards Cincomon with her claws extended. �Lightning Claw!� She cried, jumping and scratching at his face, but he simply swept her away with a free arm. Andrea�s face twitched as she witnessed this. It was changed from an expressionless face to a saddened face. �Stupid cat!� Cincomon cursed. �Antler Shot!� Wumon announced, firing his antlers at Cincomon. He shielded against them, destroying them with his own magic. Meanwhile, AlphaCommandomon was fighting hand to hand with Novadramon and Hereticmon at the same time. Eventually, he managed to knee Hereticmon in the stomach and hit him in the back with his rifle, knocking him down. Novadramon continued, but he left his lower half open, and AlphaCommandomon eventually got the better of him through proficient kicks. He aimed his rifle at Novadramon�s head, when Serpemon attacked with her pulse. AlphaCommandomon swept it aside with his rifle, and knocked her back with its butt. �Lightning Claw!� Gatomon cried, jumping at Cincomon again, just to be swept away even harder than last time. This time, the feline Digimon was swept into the left hand wall, falling to the floor and weakly trying to return to her feet. �Andi� I�m so sorry�� She apologised weakly, before collapsing. �Gatomon! No!� Andrea exclaimed, pressing her hands up to the glass of the pod. Then, something unusual happened to the computer console. The monitor sector containing the emblem of Emotion was noticeably beginning to malfunction. �Sir!� AlphaCommandomon called. �One of the crest viruses is malfunctioning!� �What!� Cincomon replied, turning to him after blocking another weak attack from Abdulmon. �Which one?� �The one belonging to that girl there!� AlphaCommandomon replied, pointing at Andrea�s pod. |
| A single teardrop rolled out of Andrea�s eye, down her face, and onto her chin. This teardrop fell onto her tag and down to her crest. As soon as it came in contact with her crest, the virus was destroyed, and with a loud high pitched screech, a brilliant pink light emerged from her crest! Gatomon gathered enough strength to return to her feet and was surrounded by a pink ball of light with the emblem of Emotion etched on its side. �Gatomon Digivolve to�� The cat spoke, before growing bigger under the light�s power. The light disappeared, revealing a humanoid angel-like Digimon, with white glowing wings and long blonde hair. She wore skin-tight gloves and a similar white suit, gashed in many places and held in place by two black belts. She wore a helmet and a pink ribbon was around her head. ��Angewomon!� �Angewomon?� Cincomon repeated. �Wow!� Fusemon replied. �It�s Angewomon! She�s an angel Digimon of pure goodness! Not many evil Digimon can stand up to her!� �Thank you, Fusemon.� Angewomon spoke. �Cincomon, your acts of violence and deceit have appalled me. You will surrender, or I will be forced to delete you on account of your actions.� �Hmph�� Cincomon grunted. �I will not be intimidated by the likes of you. You do not have the strength to defeat me, ultimate level or not!� �Heaven�s Charm!� Angewomon shouted, before raising her arms in the air. A ring of light appeared around them and expanded as it floated above her. This ring of light emitted a soft multi-coloured glow on the entire room. The glow destroyed AlphaCommandomon, and paralysed Cincomon. The other Digimon, however, were perfectly all right. In fact, they appeared to be strengthened by the light. �Hey, my strength�s coming back!� Hereticmon spoke, standing up. The other Digimon all did the same. �Time to put an end to the crest viruses!� Fusemon announced, charging his cannons. �Shockcannon!� He fired, shattering the computer monitor and destroying the computer. The eight glass pods opened, releasing their captives, but more noticeable than this was the fact that Kerri, Sam, Tim, Adrian and Khalid�s crests immediately shone brightly. �Fusemon Digivolve to�ElectroFusemon!� �Katonomon Digivolve to�AngeKatonomon!� �Novadramon Digivolve to�MetalNovadramon!� �Abdulmon Digivolve to�MetalAbdulmon!� �Hereticmon Digivolve to�DevilHereticmon!� �Everybody!� Wumon shouted. �Give your power to Angewomon! She can make it more concentrated!� �Will do! Shockcannon!� ElectroFusemon fired his electric energy into the ring of light above Angewomon�s head. �Wanker�s Fist!� AngeKatonomon announced, firing into the ring. �Sword Flame!� MetalNovadramon cried, firing his arc of fire into the light. �Wing Cannon!� MetalAbdulmon proclaimed, shooting into the light. �Midnight Streak!� DevilHereticmon added, giving his power to Angewomon. �Antler Shot!� Wumon cried, firing his antlers into the ring. �Snake Pulse!� Serpemon finished, firing a pulse of energy from her body into the light. Angewomon took a bow from her back and held up a hand. The energy from the ring of light seemed to flow into her hand, and solidified in the form of a giant arrow. She laid this arrow down on her bow and aimed at Cincomon, who was still stunned. �Celestial Arrow!� Angewomon shouted, firing the arrow of light into Cincomon. The arrow cut through Cincomon easily, and with a brilliant flash, he split into billions of particles. Angewomon smiled at her victory, and the Digidestined cheered. �Yay! We won! Well done, Angewomon!� Andrea cried. Angewomon landed near her and held her. �Think nothing of it, Andi.� She spoke. �And thank you for caring about me.� Andrea was embracing her Digimon, when suddenly, a low rumbling was heard around them. �What�s happening?� Andrea asked. �I don�t know!� Tim replied. �Hey, I think I do!� Sam spoke. �Remember when we killed Dracomon, his castle collapsed?� �Yeah.� Tim remembered. �It was because the part of the Digital World that he infected needed to be reset.� �Yeah.� Khalid agreed. �The same thing must be happening here.� �What!� Kerri exclaimed. �But this castle is huge! We�ll never escape in time!� �Yes we will!� ElectroFusemon cried. �Ready guys?� �Forgive us, Cincomon.� MetalAbdulmon sarcastically apologised, aiming his cannons at the wall. �Wing Cannon!� �Shockcannon!� �Midnight Streak!� �Sword Flame!� The four attacks successfully destroyed the wall of the room. The six ultimate Digimon waited for their Digidestined to climb onto their backs before exiting through the breech, with Audrey, Darren, Slythamon and Moosemon on MetalAbdulmon�s back. The sixteen-strong group watched as the entire castle was reduced to rubble and deleted. �Like I always say�� MetalAbdulmon quipped. �Imitation is the sincerest form of suicide.� |
| The six ultimate-level Digimon landed where Cincomon�s castle once stood. The eight Digidestined and two rookie Digimon jumped down from their backs and together, the group checked to see that there was no more danger. Upon seeing that the threat posed by Cincomon�s army was no longer present, the six returned to their rookie forms, with the exception of MetalAbdulmon who returned to his in-training form. Angewomon also returned to her in-training form; a small yellow Digimon with a long striped tail. She looked up at Andrea and the girl smiled a reply. �Hi Andi!� It spoke. �I�m Nyaromon, the in-training form of Salamon!� �What are we supposed to do now?� Adrian asked. Tim shrugged. �Wait for another bad guy to show up?� �Boring!� Kerri exclaimed. �Guys, look�� Andrea spoke, taking her tag from beneath her top. Her crest was still glowing with a bright pink light. �My crest is still glowing�shouldn�t it have stopped by now?� Suddenly, to the surprise of the entire group, the beam of light was projected in front of them, where it became a big pink ball with the emblem of emotion on its side. The ball shattered, revealing a huge blue dragon Digimon with chains wrapped around its body and several small white orbs orbiting it. It had large bushy eyebrows and a long white moustache, making it appear very old and very wise. It looked down at the group. �Greetings, Digidestined and Digimon!� It spoke in a loud, booming voice. �I sense fear in you, but there is no need for it. I am Azulongmon, the leader of the eight Digimon gods, and I mean you no harm.� Shocamon gasped. �Azulongmon!� Much to the surprise of the humans in the group, the eight Digimon all bowed their heads to Azulongmon. �Oh, stop that!� Azulongmon cried, and the eight Digimon all returned to their standing poses. �I may have created the Digiworld, but you�re the ones that are saving it! If anything, I should be bowing to you.� �So you created the Digiworld?� Khalid asked, a sceptical expression on his face. �Well, not on my own.� Azulongmon explained. �I was aided in its creation by the seven other Digimon gods. They were Jijimon, god of knowledge, Yuncildramon, god of modesty, Xavidemon, god of ambition, Shintuchmon, god of friendship, Botrahebramon, god of loyalty, Sleinadramon, god of selflessness, and ExaHyogamon, god of determination. You may have heard of them, you may not. I am the god of emotion. Together, the eight of us created the Digital World and gave life to all the Digimon inside it.� �Xavidemon�� Andrea whispered. �Why does that name sound so familiar?� �Something wrong, Andi?� Nyaromon asked. Andrea smiled at her. �No, everything�s fine, Nyaromon.� �Gennai�s already told us this story�� Kerri informed him. �There is still a lot you don�t know.� Azulongmon said, gazing at Kerri. �Hmm, you must be Kerri�well, you know even less than everybody else, so I�d listen carefully if I were you.� �What�s that supposed to mean?� Kerri shouted. There were some slight chuckles around the group. �In any case, we first needed Digidestined when the evil Digimon were too strong for us gods to fight alone. This was about one and a half thousand years ago, or twenty Earth years ago.� �Twenty Earth years?� Audrey repeated. �Yes. Time travels much faster here in the Digital World.� �How could we have been here twenty years ago?� Khalid queried. �Simple, it wasn't you. It was, in fact, your older relations; your mothers, fathers, uncles and aunts.� �Bah!� Sam exclaimed. �So you're saying my mum, dad or aunt was a Digidestined?� �Yes, and that's true for all of you.� Azulongmon said. �They were chosen because they all had something in common. They all came to the Digital World, and ended the threat posed by the evil Digimon. But what none of them had anticipated was that, about fifteen Earth years later, the evil Digimon came back!� �And this is when we came in?� Andrea said. �Yes.� Azulongmon replied. �Hang on.� Khalid stopped him. �You said that all our parents had something in common. What was it?� Azulongmon looked at Khalid and frowned. �You must be Khalid, the inquisitive one.� Azulongmon said. �I'm afraid I can't tell you that. But in any case you were all chosen because you were related to the original Digidestined. In turn, the next Digidestined could be your younger relations; younger brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, maybe some of your sons and daughters will be drafted.� �Next Digidestined?� Khalid asked. �Well, hopefully, there won't be a need for more Digidestined once you're finished. But if there are, your younger relations will be the main subjects.� �Can't really imagine JJ being a Digidestined.� Kerri said, referring to her younger brother Jamie. �Listen well, Digidestined!� Azulongmon boomed. �You have done well eliminating Davimon, Dracomon and Cincomon. But I fear that you are only halfway through your adventure. There is another, greater evil than Cincomon, and he will use his power to destroy not only the Digiworld, but your world, the analogue world, as well!� �Both worlds!� Sam exclaimed. �Yes!� Azulongmon replied. �Your world is in danger too, which should give you incentive for destroying this fiend.� �Like we wouldn�t do it anyway, out of boredom�� Nyaromon complained. �Boredom?� Azulongmon repeated. �I was under the impression that being a Digidestined was exciting�� �Well, we�re sorta between jobs right now, so to speak.� Shocamon explained. �Well, your next job begins now!� Azulongmon shouted. �Let me pass on to you everything I know of this new villain.� �Ooh, information! Cool!� Moosemon commented, perking up. �His name is Tarrantmon.� Azulongmon explained. �He�s a Digimon of pure evil, and he is not to be underestimated. He carries with him a staff, and in the top of this staff are six energy crystals. These crystals lend certain powers and abilities to the person that carries the staff, and if the staff is connected to all six crystals, it lends the bearer the awesome power of being able to destroy the planet he stands on. He can do this by burying the staff into the exact longitudinal centre of the planet. �But he doesn�t have all the crystals.� Azulongmon continued. �You see, the original Digidestined fought Tarrantmon too, but they weren�t powerful enough to defeat him. Instead, they merely destroyed his staff, scattered four of the crystals around the Digiworld and the final two they took back to the analogue world with them. He�s found the four here in the Digital World.� �So to complete the staff, he�s going to take a vacation to our world?� Audrey guessed. �Precisely.� �Hang on�the exact longitudinal centre!� Khalid repeated. �London�� Sam mumbled. �Well, Greenwich to be more precise.� Azulongmon corrected him. �I�ve been to the analogue world too, I know my way around.� �Azulongmon�� Adrian cried. �Will Tarrantmon try and destroy our world with this staff?� �I�m certain of it.� Azulongmon answered. �That�s why you all must stop him as soon as possible. He has already established a gateway between this world and yours.� �How can we return to our world?� Darren asked. �Hold out your Digivices and concentrate.� Azulongmon explained. �This will open the gateway. Well, Digidestined, it has been nice speaking with you. I shall now return to Andrea�s crest! Good luck in your plight against Tarrantmon!� �Bye moose!� Darren shouted, as Azulongmon dissolved into pink energy. �Moose? You must be Darren.� Azulongmon�s voice spoke. �Hmm, Well, I wish you all the best for your quest! And remember Andrea, I�ll be watching you closest of all!� With these words, the pink energy flowed back into Andrea�s crest. The Digidestined all stood in a circle and glanced at each other. �Well, they brought us here, they should be able to take us back�� Tim mumbled to himself, holding his Digivice out. �If only we�d done this sooner, we wouldn�t have to save the world.� Sam said, holding his Digivice into the circle. �I guess we have another responsibility�� Adrian spoke, adding his Digivice. �I can�t really be arsed to fight someone else. I wanna sleep.� �Poor Adrian.� Audrey said, smiling and putting her Digivice into the circle. �Looks like I�m heading to London!� �Yay! We can look around Camden and shop!� Kerri exclaimed excitedly, fumbling with her Digivice as she added it to the ring. �Hey, I�ll show you around Camden if you want!� Khalid offered, adding his Digivice. �It�ll be cool, just you, and me, and Andi.� �No way!� Andrea cried, grinning, as she put her Digivice in the middle. �Me and Kez can look around on our own.� �And thus begins a new chapter of our journey�� Darren mused, adding his device. Everyone turned to him. ��Thus�? �A new chapter�?� Tim repeated. �Very profound, Darren.� Sam commented. �Erm�moose.� Darren added nervously, before looking skyward as a huge beam of multi-coloured light surrounded the eight of them and their Digimon partners. Suddenly, the sixteen of them began to float upwards, towards the clouds. �Uh oh�� Khalid grunted. �Who�s afraid of heights?� �Me.� Sam informed. �I get airsick too.� Kerri admitted. �Get the fuck away from me, then!� Adrian shouted, pushing her away. �So�to Earth!� Tim cried, before the team split into billions of digital bits and floated up into the clouds. |
