| Chapter Twenty-one: How Hungry Am I? |
| MetalAbdulmon landed outside the small restaurant and allowed the Digidestined to climb off of him. �Is this adequate?� MetalAbdulmon asked. Kerri turned to him and smiled. �Yeah. Thanks MetalAbdulmon!� MetalAbdulmon glowed white and shrunk down to a smaller form. When the light dissipated, a small yellow chick Digimon was left. �Aww, you�re cute!� Kerri said as the small bird hopped into her arms. �Thanks Kerri!� It spoke. �My name is Tokonomon. I Digivolve into Eaglemon.� �I hope they serve more than mushrooms and chicken here.� Darren said, walking to the door of the restaurant. �Ooh, a customer!� They heard a voice call. Then, an egg-like Digimon came to greet them. It had no arms, and two lizard-like legs appearing from beneath. There was a large hole in its shell, through which a pair of red eyes could be seen. �Hey, Digitamamon.� Moosemon acknowledged, before being pushed aside by Shocamon. �Yo, Eggy!� Shocamon shouted. �Give us some food, now!� �Eggy?� Digitamamon repeated, glaring down at Shocamon. �My name is Digitamamon, the master chef!� �Whatever, omelette man.� Shocamon continued. �Just get us some food. We�re hungry!� �What is this insolence?� Digitamamon cried angrily. �Ignore him, Digitamamon!� Slipmon said, putting his hand over Shocamon�s mouth. The electric Digimon let out muffled complaints. �We�re all pretty hungry and would really appreciate it if you gave us some food.� �Hmm�� Digitamamon mused. �Alright then. Our special today is broccoli. But if you prefer, we also serve potatoes.� �Broccoli and potatoes? Is that it?� Audrey asked. �Yes.� �That sucks!� Sam commented. �I am indifferent either way.� Andrea said. Salamon looked up at Andrea and shook her head. �That�s great�� Kerri stated sarcastically. �This is just like Maitremon�s restaurant!� �Maitremon!� Digitamamon repeated. He approached Kerri and glared at her, causing Kerri to become slightly worried. �What do you know about Maitremon?� �Err�� Kerri mumbled, backing away slightly. �He stole our Digivices, so we killed him.� Andrea said. �Is that true?� Digitamamon questioned, turning to Adrian with an intimidating glare. �Yeah, all true.� Adrian answered. �In that case, welcome to my restaurant!� Digitamamon spoke, his eyes appearing happy. �You all must be the Digidestined. Thanks to you wiping out my main competition, I�ve been busy serving all my new customers!� �New customers?� Khalid repeated, looking around. �There�s nobody else here.� �I owe you Digidestined a lot!� Digitamamon continued, ignoring Khalid�s observation. �As a token of my gratitude, you may eat for free!� �Free meal!� Kerri exclaimed. �I don�t care if it�s broccoli or potatoes or whatever, a free meal always tastes great!� Adrian laughed. �Yeah!� Digitamamon swiftly lead the group to their table. Once again, they sat around the table with humans and Digimon alternating. �Is anyone else getting a nasty sense of d�j� vu?� Audrey asked. �Relax Drey.� Adrian said. �Cincomon doesn�t know we�re here.� �Yeah.� Shocamon added. �And to make sure it�s safe, I�ll test the food!� �May I take your order?� A voice said. The group turned and saw Tapirmon staring at a notepad. �Tapirmon?� Khalid said. Tapirmon looked up and saw, to his horror, the same group that had attacked him! He screamed. �You�ve come back to kill me!� Tapirmon screamed, backing away slowly. Andrea stood. �Tapirmon, we have no reason to attack you.� Andrea said calmly. �All we wish is for you to bring us food.� �Really?� Tapirmon asked. Andrea�s cold demeanour had a calming effect on him. �Yes.� Andrea said. �Okay�� Tapirmon acknowledged. �May I take your orders?� The group ordered and Tapirmon wondered off back into the kitchen. Eventually, he emerged back from the kitchen and handed the group their dishes. Shocamon sniffed at the food eagerly and everyone watched him. �Time for me to test this food�� Shocamon said, eating a stick of broccoli. He then slammed his head down on the table and feigned snoring. The group stared at him as he continued his charade. Tim flicked his ear. �Bah!� Shocamon shouted, looking up suddenly. Everyone laughed. The group ate their meals, light conversation between them occurring. Eventually, everyone had finished his or her meal. Kerri smiled and stood. �I need the toilet.� Kerri said. �I�ll be back.� �Me too.� Darren observed, also standing. �I think I need to go too.� Audrey stated. �I don�t.� Sam noted, walking to the door. �I�ll wait outside.� �Sam, wait up!� Khalid shouted, as he, Tridemon and Slipmon followed Sam. �I�m coming too!� Tim called, standing and following the others, Shocamon on his heels. �I shall also follow Sam.� Andrea said. ��I shall�?� Salamon quoted. �You know there�s something wrong when Andi starts using words like �I shall�!� Adrian laughed and stood, following the others out of the door. |
| Kerri exited the bathroom stall and approached one of the sinks. She washed her hands then looked up at the mirror. She smiled as she saw a familiar figure behind her. She turned to face the figure. �Hey, what are you doing here?� Kerri asked. To her surprise, the figure glowed a brilliant white and changed shape. Eventually, the white glow took on another familiar shape. That of Cincomon! A look of horror crept onto Kerri�s face. She backed away from Cincomon and screamed, leaning back over the sinks. With phenomenal strength, Cincomon pinned Kerri against the sinks by her neck, and the girl instinctively raised both of her own hands in a vain attempt to rid herself of his grasp. With his free hand, Cincomon touched Kerri�s crest and it started to glow black, like Andrea�s. Cincomon removed his iron grip and Kerri, being too weak to stand, slid slowly to the floor, gasping for air. Cincomon laughed at the sight of the pitiful girl, and glowed white, transforming to his previous form. |
| �Guys, get in here, quickly!� Audrey shouted, peering out of the washroom door and looking at Darren, Moosemon, Slythamon and Tokonomon. �Moose!� Darren exclaimed. �What�s wrong?� �It�s Kerri. Come, quickly!� Audrey shouted frantically, before disappearing back into the bathroom. The three Digimon and the young man all ran into the washroom and found Kerri sitting up against the sink counter, gasping for breath. �Kerri, are you okay?� Tokonomon asked, approaching her. �I�m fine�� Kerri said calmly, her laboured breathing slowing in pace. �Are you sure?� Darren asked. �Dammit, I said I�m fine!� Kerri shouted angrily, standing up and gazing at Darren. �Alright Kerri, calm down�� Audrey commented. �I am calm!� Kerri cried furiously. �Who did this to you Kerri?� Tokonomon asked. �Tells us who it was!� �I don�t need to tell you that, you stupid little ball of feathers!� Kerri announced, her voice burning with pure anger. With this, she stormed out of the bathroom. Moosemon turned to Audrey. �Audrey, did you see what happened?� Moosemon asked. �No.� Audrey replied. �I was in one of the toilet stalls and I heard a scream. I quickly came out and saw Kerri leaning against the sinks.� �We should talk to the others about this.� Slythamon suggested. �They might be able to come up with a plan.� �Yeah.� Darren concurred, and the five of them followed Kerri out of the washroom door. |
| Excellent. My plan is working. One by one, they will fall�and I shall emerge victorious. |
| Tim, Sam, Adrian and Khalid were standing outside the restaurant door, talking about the day�s events. All of a sudden, Kerri emerged through the restaurant door and pushed her way past the four boys. �Get the fuck out of the way!� She screamed. The boys didn�t argue. �Kerri, calm down!� Adrian suggested. �What�s wrong?� �Nothing�s wrong! Why the fuck does everyone keep asking me that?� Kerri screamed. �Must be that time of the month�� Tim observed. �What time of the month?� Shocamon asked. �Never mind.� Tim said. �No, it�s not that, look at her crest guys�� Khalid stated. The boys turned and saw that her crest was absorbing light and glowing black, just like Andrea�s. �Whoa.� Sam uttered. �Shit, not Kerri too�� Adrian ejaculated. Kerri scowled at the boys and approached them. She swiftly kicked Adrian in the crotch. He doubled over in pain, uttering various profanities. �Don�t stare!� Kerri demanded. She turned to Sam and raised a fist. The young man backed off. �Alright Kez, calm down.� Khalid offered. �For the last fucking time, I am fucking calm!� Kerri screamed, kicking Khalid in the shin as she said the last word. Khalid hopped on one leg and screamed in pain. Then, the door opened again and Darren, Audrey, Slythamon, Moosemon and Tokonomon emerged from the restaurant. Sam stared at them. �Please tell me you guys are still sane�� He spoke. �Hey, what�s happened to Kerri?� Adrian asked, approaching Darren and Audrey. �We don�t know.� Audrey replied, shaking her head. �We were hoping you guys would.� �It must have been done by Cincomon.� Andrea said. �But I thought Cincomon doesn�t know where we are!� Darren shouted. �This means he does.� Andrea said. �Guys, I just thought.� Khalid offered, approaching the group. �Cincomon can transform into anything.� �What the fuck!� Adrian shouted, turning to him. �So if he knows where we are, then any of us could be Cincomon!� �That is the only logical explanation.� Andrea said. �But it must have been one of you guys, because we were all out here.� Sam said. �You think it might be me?� Audrey observed, looking stressed. �Maybe. It could be Darren.� Adrian uttered. �Well we know why he did this to Kerri.� Tim said. �Why?� Adrian asked. �Because MetalAbdulmon was the only one that knew how to get back to Cincomon�s castle.� Tim mused. �Without him, we�re stranded.� �So you�re saying Cincomon attacked Kerri so that Tokonomon couldn�t Digivolve to MetalAbdulmon?� Darren asked. �That makes sense.� Andrea said. �Well, there�s nothing we can do about it, so why don�t we just continue.� Darren suggested, walking off. �Yeah, but shouldn�t one of us restrain Kerri?� Tim asked. �I don�t need fucking restraining!� Kerri screamed, kicking Tim in the shin. He screamed in pain. Sam grabbed Kerri by the arms and put them behind her back. The young girl struggled, but to no avail. �I think you do need restraining.� Sam stated, holding on to her tightly. �There you are, Digidestined!� A voice called. The group looked on as Commandomon approached them. �Not you! Not now!� Tokonomon sighed. �Tokonomon Digivolve to�Eaglemon!� �Company, halt!� Commandomon shouted as he stood near the group. He stopped. �What do you want, Commandomon?� Salamon demanded, scowling at the foe. Commandomon shouldered his rifle. �I have been sent by my CO, Cincomon!� �That�s a lie!� Eaglemon declared. �Cincomon is here! We know that!� �Ah, the enemy has been doing some reconnaissance, I see!� Commandomon sneered. �That�s not the right word!� Slythamon shouted. �Stop trying to sound like a military Digimon! You�re just a fool!� �That�s it! Now it�s personal!� Commandomon shouted. �Reinforcements attack! Pincer formation!� �Reinforcements?� Tridemon repeated, looking around as four large elephant-like Digimon emerged from either side of the restaurant. They had brown fur and silver helmets, with tusks that appeared to be secured on with tape. Their helmets had an eye carved into them. The Digidestined suddenly became very worried; they were surrounded. �What are they?� Adrian asked. �Mammothmon.� Onomon informed him. �Big ultimate-level elephant Digimon that should have been extinct a long time ago. Their tusk crusher attack is dangerous.� �Mammothmon, attack!� Commandomon ordered. The Mammothmon trumpeted and walked forwards. �Shocamon Digivolve to� Fusemon!� �Tridemon Digivolve to�Novadramon!� �Slipmon Digivolve to�Hereticmon!� �Moosemon Digivolve to�Wumon!� Hereticmon and Fusemon ran towards the Mammothmon on the left and pushed it back, while Novadramon and Wumon tried to stop the Mammothmon on the right. �Salamon Digivolve to� Gatomon!� �Onomon Digivolve to� Katonomon!� �Eaglemon Digivolve to� Abdulmon!� �Slythamon Digivolve to� Serpemon!� �Lightning Claw!� Gatomon cried, running at Commandomon and jumping up at him. The cat Digimon landed on Commandomon�s face and the enemy Digimon hit her with his rifle. Gatomon fell off of him, landing on the ground nearby. �Money Shot!� Katonomon shouted, firing a volley of white balls at Commandomon, who raised his rifle and hit all the balls away with the butt. �Bullet Rain!� Commandomon shouted, firing a burst of bullets at Serpemon. �Nightmare Syndrome!� Digitamamon�s voice called, as a black ball of energy with eyes flew past and swallowed all of the bullets. It then hit Commandomon, who was knocked back by the impact. �Digitamamon?� Serpemon uttered, as the egg Digimon ran past and stood in front of Commandomon. �You guys handle the Mammothmon, I�ll take care of this!� Digitamamon said, glaring at Commandomon. �Okay!� Gatomon shouted, running back to the others. The three other champion Digimon followed her. �Will Digitamamon be okay?� Audrey asked. �I�m sure he knows what he�s doing.� Tim replied. �We need more power!� Adrian noted, holding up his crest. �Katonomon, Digivolve!� �Katonomon Digivolve to� AngeKatonomon!� �Shockcannon!� Fusemon declared, firing two balls of electricity at one of the Mammothmon. �Darkness Grenades!� Hereticmon shouted, throwing dark balls of energy at the same Mammothmon. The two attacks bounced off of the Mammothmon�s hard helmet. On the other side of the restaurant, one of the Mammothmon had picked up Novadramon in his trunk and threw him into Wumon, knocking both aside. AngeKatonomon looked down on the two elephant Digimon and raised a fist. �Wanker�s Fist!� he shouted, punching forward and hitting one of the elephant Digimon with the attack. The Mammothmon was stunned, but quickly regained his strength and looked up at AngeKatonomon. �Tusk Crusher!� The two Mammothmon said in unison, firing their tusks at AngeKatonomon, like missiles. AngeKatonomon stumbled, almost falling, but managed to stay upright. One of the Mammothmon looked down upon the group and grabbed Kerri in its trunk. The girl screamed. �Put me down, you stupid piece of shit!� Kerri screamed angrily, kicking and punching frantically. Khalid looked up at Kerri and jumped up, grabbing her arm and pulling her back. �No, you can�t take her!� Khalid shouted, pulling as hard as he could. �Khalid, you let go too!� Kerri warned him, scowling at him. �But I need to save you Kerri!� Khalid replied. �Why?� Kerri asked, still scowling. �Because� I just need to do it!� Khalid answered. The elephant Digimon responded by wildly flailing his trunk around. Kerri and Khalid both screamed, Khalid holding tightly onto Kerri. However, he did not hold tightly enough, and he was tossed back over the Mammothmon�s shoulder. He fell to the ground behind the Mammothmon, groaning in pain. Hereticmon turned and looked at Khalid. �Khalid, no!� Hereticmon shouted, before being head-butted in the back by one of the Mammothmon. Hereticmon fell to the ground, weak. He summoned all the strength he had to roll over and look on as the Mammothmon approached him and raised his foot, ready to crush him. Meanwhile, Khalid had got back up and approached the same Mammothmon again, trying to pull Kerri away from him. Looking down at his chest, he saw his crest was shining brightly. He turned to Hereticmon. �Hereticmon!� He shouted with a groan. �Digivolve!� Much to the Mammothmon�s surprise, a bright white light had appeared from beneath his foot. The Mammothmon trumpeted, almost losing his balance. �Hereticmon Digivolve to�� The Digimon cried, being surrounded by a dark blue ball with the symbol of Loyalty on its side. Eventually, the ball disappeared, and in its place was a grey bat-like Digimon with two arms, webbed for wings. The Digimon wore a black belt and a tooth-shaped pendant around its neck. It also had a cape, five horns adorning its head and a forked tail. �DevilHereticmon!� This new Digimon immediately put both hands on the Mammothmon�s foot and pushed upwards, causing the elephant Digimon to fall backwards. DevilHereticmon flew upwards and smirked evilly. �Listen, Mammothmon!� He spoke. �I am DevilHereticmon! My Midnight Streak attack sends a ball of pure dark energy towards my foes. You will regret the day your master sent you to attack me!� �Tusk Crusher!� One of the Mammothmon cried, firing his tusks at DevilHereticmon. The devil Digimon turned and swatted the missile downwards with his wing. Fusemon then hit the Mammothmon that attacked with an uppercut, and the creature was stunned. �DevilHereticmon!� Khalid screamed. �A little help here!� �Right!� DevilHereticmon said, flying down and punching the Mammothmon holding Kerri. The Mammothmon trumpeted in pain and instantly released the girl. Khalid approached her. �Are you okay?� Khalid asked, wrapping his arms around the girl�s shoulders. �Get the fuck off of me.� Kerri whispered, shrugging herself free of his arm. �Time for you to die!� DevilHereticmon shouted at the Mammothmon he had punched. He grunted and lifted the elephant off of the ground. He then turned and threw the large Digimon towards AngeKatonomon. �AngeKatonomon, you take care of this!� �Wanker�s Fist!� AngeKatonomon cried, punching the Mammothmon in the stomach. The elephant immediately turned to dust. Meanwhile, back on the ground, the trunk of one of the other Mammothmon had grabbed DevilHereticmon. Gatomon saw this and immediately ran up to him, jumping up. �Lightning Claw!� Gatomon shouted, slashing the Mammothmon�s trunk and releasing DevilHereticmon. �Thanks Gatomon!� DevilHereticmon acknowledged, flying up in the air and folding his wings over his chest. �Midnight Streak!� He absorbed dark energy into his wings, before throwing his wings back, revealing a dark ball of energy that flew down at the Mammothmon. This energy hit the Mammothmon and then surrounded him. His body seemed to seize up in pain before he split into his component molecules. DevilHereticmon looked down and saw that there were only two Mammothmon left. The other Digimon had arranged themselves in formation, ready to attack the pair. �Ready guys�� Fusemon spoke as the Mammothmon charged. �Attack!� �Mega Wing!� Abdulmon shouted, firing a red ball of energy. �Flame Bubble!� Novadramon cried, firing a ball of fire. �Snake Pulse!� Serpemon added, firing a pulse from her body at the elephants. �Antler Shot!� Wumon cried, firing his antlers. �My turn! Shockcannon!� Fusemon announced, firing two balls of electricity from his fully charged cannons. The five attacks hit one of the elephant Digimon, turning him to dust. �Porn Blast!� AngeKatonomon declared, creating a white oval of energy and tossing it at the last Mammothmon. �Midnight Streak!� DevilHereticmon cried, creating a dark ball of energy between his wings and firing it at the Mammothmon. The two attacks covered the elephant and he turned to dust. The Digimon all turned to Commandomon and Digitamamon. Digitamamon was holding his own, but was starting to weaken, as Commandomon was the stronger. �Nightmare Syndrome!� Digitamamon shouted, firing a dark ball of energy with eyes out of the hole in his shell and at Commandomon. Commandomon held up his rifle and used it to shield himself from the attack. He held up his gun and aimed carefully through the rifle�s scope at Digitamamon. �I think it�s time you were scrambled!� Commandomon sneered. Suddenly, DevilHereticmon�s face appeared in the scope! Commandomon motioned to fire, but DevilHereticmon had grabbed the barrel of the gun and moved it upward. He then punched Commandomon in the face, knocking him back. Commandomon looked up at DevilHereticmon, and all the other Digimon standing nearby in their champion or ultimate forms, all glaring at him. DevilHereticmon lifted the rifle high in the air, before slamming it down on his raised knee, snapping it in two. He threw the two parts of the rifle back to the foe. �I think it�s time you got lost.� He spoke. �Before we kill you.� Commandomon was obviously angry, but he nevertheless stood, picked up the remnants of his broken weapon, turned, and fled. �I�ll be back, Digidestined!� He shouted as he ran. �You�ve won the battle, but you�ve lost the war!� �What an asshole�� Audrey commented, watching Commandomon disappear over the horizon. The Digimon all returned to their rookie forms, with the exception of AngeKatonomon, who became Semon, and DevilHereticmon, who became a small red Digimon with two horns and a forked tail. Khalid looked at this new Digimon as it approached him. �What are you?� Khalid asked. �I�m Icamon.� It spoke, looking up at him. �The In-training form of Slipmon.� �Okay then.� Khalid said with a shrug. �You Digidestined are great!� Digitamamon said, approaching the group. �First you save my business by eliminating the competition, then you save it by destroying four mad elephants who wanted to knock it down, and then you save my life!� �Think nothing of it.� Andrea said. �But I must do something!� Digitamamon said. �I wish I could go with you to fight Cincomon and Commandomon, but I must watch the restaurant! At least let me give you another meal!� �Alright then.� Tim said simply, walking back to the restaurant with Shocamon by his side. �Moose!� Darren cried. |
| �That was a nice meal.� Adrian said with a sigh, leaning back on his chair. �I�m full.� �Quite.� Sam spoke. �My complements to the chef.� �Guys, what are we gonna do?� Khalid asked. �One of us is Cincomon and we need to know who it is!� Audrey, Sam, Adrian, Tim, Darren and Khalid were sat around a table, their empty plates before them. Andrea was sitting at a different table gazing at her plate in silence, whereas Kerri was in the corner of the restaurant relentlessly attacking a potted plant, all the while screaming various profanities. The boys had managed to convince Kerri that the plant was evil and that it deserved to be attacked. This was to keep her from attacking them instead. �We know it was either Darren or Audrey.� Tim said. �It wasn�t me!� The two of them cried in unison. �We can�t know that for sure.� Sam said. �Cincomon can also become one of the Digimon.� �But how could he Digivolve like one of us?� Moosemon asked. �Or attack? It�s not possible.� �We don�t know that.� Tim reasoned. �Cincomon could be able to use other Digimon�s attacks.� �Look, guys.� Adrian spoke, leaning forward. �We should just forget about this for now. We�ll find out who Cincomon is eventually.� �Let�s lay our options on the table.� Audrey added. �Eaglemon is the only one of us that knows how to get back to Cincomon�s castle. But now that he can�t Digivolve to MetalAbdulmon, we�re stuck. We can either try to get back to Cincomon�s castle, or we can try to confront this problem now.� �We need to get back.� Icamon said. �Why do you say that, Icamon?� Semon asked. �The thing that Cincomon is doing to your crests�� Icamon spoke. �I think, while I was there, I saw a machine that controlled it.� �Really?� Sam spoke, as he and the rest of the group suddenly became very interested. �Yeah.� Icamon continued. �It was a big machine with the pictures of all the eight crest emblems on it. If we could shut down the machine�� �Then the crests would return to normal?� Audrey asked. �Seems like it.� Icamon said. �Then we have to go back to Cincomon�s castle!� Audrey declared, standing. �Drey.� Audrey looked down at Tim, who had been silent with thought. He looked up at her. �Yeah, Tim?� �Sit down.� Audrey sat back in her chair and stared at him. �I�ve been doing some thinking.� Tim explained, standing. �Makes a change.� Shocamon spoke. �It�s up to us to save the Digiworld, right?� Tim continued, ignoring Shocamon�s comment. �How are we gonna save it?� �By kicking some ass?� Audrey answered. �Yes.� Tim said. �But we can�t just rush in. We�ve got to think. Think about our every move. We all have the power to beat Cincomon if we work together.� �You�re right, for once.� Shocamon shouted, jumping up on the table. �If we put our minds to it, we can beat anyone, including Cincomon!� �Yeah!� Tridemon agreed, clambering onto the table and approaching Shocamon. �I know we can win. That look Commandomon had today, it was great. I loved seeing the fear in his eyes!� �You know, I�d love to see that fear in Cincomon�s eyes.� Icamon spoke, also standing with Tridemon and Shocamon. �I know we can do it!� Tim exclaimed. �We can do it!� �Hang on.� Semon spoke. �What is it, Semon?� Shocamon asked. �One of us is Cincomon, and we don�t know who.� Semon reminded them. �If we don�t find out, he�s just gonna do this,� Onomon made nodding motions towards Kerri and Andrea, �to all of you.� �Semon�s right, Tim.� Audrey concurred. �This isn�t a problem we can just ignore. We need to find out which one of us is Cincomon now.� �Yeah.� Shocamon agreed. �So, any bright ideas, Tim?� Tim sat down at his chair again and looked down at the ground in thought. �I haven�t thought about that bit yet.� He finally admitted. There was a silence as the group contemplated the situation. The silence was broken by a crash, and the entire group turned to see Kerri straddling the plant, which had just fallen over, and pummelling it with her fists. |
