| Chapter Ninteen: Novadramon's Cold Armour |
| Sam turned to Adrian as the two boys sat in silence in their cell. He said were the first? Sam asked. Yeah. Adrian replied, looking down at his watch. Its due in about five minutes. Great, our last moments. Sam noted. Okay, its time now. A gruff voice spoke. The boys looked up and saw four Bakemon standing outside their cell, accompanying Tridemon and Semon. Both of them were being restricted by one of the ghosts. Tridemon! Sam exclaimed, grabbing the bars of his cell. What are you talking about? Adrian asked them. Were not due for another five minutes! It takes five minutes to walk there! the other Bakemon explained, unlocking their cell. The two boys were handcuffed swiftly and led to the execution room. On the way there, Sam whispered into Tridemons ear. I dont suppose you have another brilliant escape plan? Sam asked. Afraid not, Sam. Im all out. Tridemon informed him sadly. Dont you two get any ideas! One of the Bakemon shouted. We heard what you did at Dracomons castle, and it wont happen here! Yeah, were too smart to fall for something like that! One of the Bakemon said. Ill bet Sam trailed off. Ill bet? The same Bakemon replied. Whats that supposed to mean? Its supposed to mean that the average rock has a higher IQ than the four of you combined. Sam said. What! The Bakemon screamed. You be careful or Ill kill you myself! Do it, then! Sam said. At least we wont have to walk so far, and I wont have to put up with the four of you annoying fools! Ill kill him! One of the Bakemon exclaimed, reaching to attack Sam. One of the others restrained him. Calm down, calm down, hes only trying to make you upset. The Bakemons accomplice said to him. Sam, this isnt like you Tridemon said. Well, if were gonna die in five minutes, I figure I may as well enjoy the five minutes. Sam replied. Adrian laughed. Whats so funny? Sam asked Adrian. Nothing. Adrian answered, shaking his head. Eventually the boys reached the execution room, a large well-lit room with four bed-like traps embedded in the far wall, lined with shackles. The room also contained cages, presumably for Digimon, and some large computers, covered in dials and flashing lights. The room also had a sliding garage door in the wall next to the computer. The Bakemon released the two Digimon, pushing them into a cage. Then they released the handcuffs holding Adrian and Sam. Sam, to everyones surprise, rose to attack the Bakemon that had threatened him. You wanna kill me, do ya? He asked, raising a fist. The Bakemon screamed, and Sam thought he had the advantage, when a robotic arm grabbed his wrist. Sam was surprised, until another arm grabbed his other wrist, and two more grabbed his ankles. The arms lifted him in the air and threw him into some of the shackles in the wall, which closed and locked upon sensing him. Sam looked at Adrian as the same thing happened to him, robotic arms grabbing his wrists and ankles and throwing him into the wall. The Bakemon laughed and walked out of the room. Before the last one left, he turned back to the boys. Dont worry, you wont have to wait long. Artillermon will be here soon. He said, before laughing and following the others. Artillermon? Adrian repeated. I can take this opportunity to escape! Trident Flame! Tridemon cried, firing a string of flames at one of the bars of the cage. He and Semon smiled as it melted. Tridemon stopped when it had melted sufficiently. He kicked the bar with all his strength and it came loose. Just then, the Digimon heard the garage door open. They looked up and watched as a big dragon-like Digimon floated into the room. It was long and black, with a head of blue streaming hair, and two metallic hands. He eyed the two boys carefully and then laughed. Hello Digidestined. It spoke. Im Artillermon. Its my job to execute you both now, so if you have any final requests, Id like to hear them now. Ive got one! Sam said. What is it? Well, you know those two girls that you captured, Kerri and Andrea? Sam asked. Yes, we have prisoners by those names. Artillermon said. What of them? Well, Id like to be alone with them, a Jacuzzi, and some of the most powerful alcohol in the Digiworld. Sam informed him, and Adrian started laughing. Ill also need some Silence! Artillermon shouted. Your request is too complex! Well, then, at least let me sing my favourite song of all time, one last time. Sam said. That isacceptable. Artillermon said. What is this song? It goes like this Sam spoke, before he began to sing, a billion green bottles, hanging on the wall Silence! Artillermon repeated. You are beginning to infuriate me! Adrian could hardly believe how Sam was acting. It was as if he suddenly became a lot more talkative. But Sam knew what he was doing. He was distracting Artillermon from Tridemon and Semon, who had melted the last bar of the cage and were sneaking out of it. You know, that word, silence should really be your catchphrase. Sam continued. It really suits you and itd make a good catchphrase for you, you know, like Bruce Forsyth has Nice to see you to see you Shut up! Artillermon shouted. No! Sam replied. Its nice to see you to see you nice! Geez, someone would think you didnt watch television! Aghh! Artillermon roared. Ive had enough of this! Its time for you to be executed! Semon Digivolve toOnomon! Tridemon Digivolve toNovadramon! What? Artillermon asked, turning to where the Digimon were. Flame Bubble! Novadramon shouted, firing a ball of fire at Artillermon. Semblance Bomb! Onomon announced, firing a white bubble of energy at the foe. Artillermon was hit back by the two attacks, crashing into the garage door and putting a dent in it. He flew forwards and aimed one of his metal hands at Novadramon. Bullet Point! Artillermon exclaimed, firing a single small bullet at Novadramon. It flew quickly and hit the champion Digimon in the arm. It clutched its limb in pain, before four robotic arms grabbed his arms just as they had done to Sam and Adrian. Some more robotic arms appeared, grabbed Onomon by his tail and threw him into a cage. Onomon screamed as the door of the cage was locked behind him. Now, I can begin the execution! Artillermon said, turning back to the boys and scowling at Sam. As much as it would please me to kill you first, boy, I have orders to destroy this one first. He indicated with his hand guns at Adrian. What? Why? Adrian asked. Because Lord Cincomon considers you the most dangerous, because it was your Digimon that defeated Dracomon. Artillermon explained. Adrian swallowed hard as Sam looked down at the ground in silence. Please no Adrian muttered, shaking his head. I dont want to die. Sam examined Adrian and looked back up at Artillermon. Bullet Artillermon began, aiming his gun at Adrians forehead. Stop! Sam exclaimed as loudly as he could. Artillermon turned to him with rage in his eyes. What is it now, you annoying brat? Artillermon asked. If youre gonna do it, you gotta do me first! Sam explained. What? Adrian asked. You wanted to kill me first anyway, right? Sam said. You may as well do it now! Sam, what are you doing? Adrian whispered. Adrian, hes right. Sam said. Youre more dangerous than me, because your Digimon can Digivolve to ultimate. If he takes me first, the others might come and rescue you before he can execute you. They wont, Sam! Theres a chance that they will! Sam said. And besidesI dont wanna watch you die. Please, let me do this. Stop talking and decide! Which one of you am I gonna kill first? Me. Sam said, looking up at Artillermon. Novadramon looked on in shock as he fought against the robotic arms to no avail; he had failed as a chosen Digimon. Very well. Artillermon cried. Bullet Point! A gunshot was heard, but Sam could sense nothing else as his eyes were closed. The others in the room all averted and closed their eyes too. Sam winced and expected a searing pain to rip through his chest, but this pain never came. Instead, through his eyelids, he could see a bright light emanating from just below him. He opened his eyes and saw to his surprise that his crest was shining brightly with grey light so bright it could be clearly seen through his dark t-shirt. What was even more amazing was that the bullet was hovering in mid-air just inches in front of his chest. The light of the crest appeared to be pushing it back! Sam watched as the bullet fell to the ground and split into millions of tiny particles. What? Artillermon said. What happened? I can feel the crests power inside me Novadramon said, finally freeing himself of the arms and punching them away. The crests power? Artillermon spoke frantically. This cant be! Not the sacred power of Sleinadramon! Sleinadramon, the digi-god of selflessness! Novadramon said. I can feel his power! I can Digivolve! Do it! Sam exclaimed. Novadramon Digivolve to Novadramon cried being surrounded by a grey ball with the symbol of selflessness etched on it. Eventually the grey ball dissipated, leaving a humanoid Digimon that was covered in metal armour. His helmet had three horns in it and his chest plate had the symbol of Selflessness printed on it. He carried a sword in his right hand and had elbow and knee guards. MetalNovadramon! MetalNovadramon? Sam asked. Thats right, Im MetalNovadramon, ultimate form of Tridemon. MetalNovadramon said. Ive got a body covered in hard armour, and my sword can pierce virtually anything! My Sword Flame attack creates a powerful arc of fire to burn my foes! Never mind that, grabber arms, grab him! Artillermon ordered. Not today! MetalNovadramon screamed, turning and slashing the robotic arms that flew at him with his sword. The claws of the arms fell to the ground, sparks flying from them. Ill fight you myself then! Artillermon shouted. Bullet Point! MetalNovadramon turned and held up his arm. The bullet bounced off of his elbow guard. He then ran at Artillermon and slashed upwards with his sword, but Artillermon blocked with one of his guns. Crescent Kick! MetalNovadramon cried, roundhouse-kicking Artillermon in the chest. The dragon Digimon flew back into the wall. MetalNovadramon grabbed the foe by the tail and threw him into the opposite wall. Now its time for your execution! Sword Flame! MetalNovadramon cried, holding his sword up behind his left shoulder, before slashing downwards to his right. The sword created an arc of fire, which flew towards Artillermon and hit him in the stomach. With a scream, the dragon Digimon slowly disintegrated. Yeah! Sam shouted. Well done, MetalNovadramon! Thanks! MetalNovadramon answered. Now to free you guys MetalNovadramon approached the control panel and examined it for a minute. He pressed a few buttons, which appear to do nothing. Frustrated, he raised his sword above his head and stabbed downwards through the computers control panel. The computer was deleted, and the boys shackles came free. Both of them fell to the floor. Sword Flame! MetalNovadramon shouted, firing another arc of fire at the cage Onomon was trapped in. The bars of the cage melted and Onomon slipped out. Then MetalNovadramon glowed white and shrunk back down to a small four-legged Digimon with three horns and a striped body. Sam looked at it as it approached him. And you are? Sam asked. My names Bubbomon. It answered. Im Tridemon in his in-training form. Alright then Sam replied as he and Adrian stood. Where should we go now, Adrian? We have to find the others. Adrian said, checking his Digivice. What? Whats wrong, Adrian? Sam asked, looking at his Digivice. My Digivice tells me that all of the others are in the building to the west. Adrian informed. All of them? Sam answered. But earlier three of them were to the north west. Yeah. Which means they might have escaped. Or they could have been brought to the west building by Cincomon and his flunkies. Sam replied. Either way, we should go to them. Adrian said. Sam nodded an agreement and they walked out of the execution room, flanked by their Digimon. |
