| Chapter Seventeen: Confrontation of Knowledge |
| The Digidestined looked up at the drawbridge leading over the castle moat into Dracomon�s castle. It was closed, and to the Digidestined's knowledge, was the only way to enter. �How are we supposed to enter?� Khalid asked. �Doesn�t look like Dracomon�s just gonna let us in.� Tim noted. �We need another way.� �That hole we escaped through!� Kerri exclaimed. �We might be able to get in that way!� �Good idea, Kez.� Khalid said. �It�s a brilliant idea, damn proud.� Kerri replied, smiling. �Let�s go!� Tim shouted, before he followed Kerri, Khalid and Sam to the hole they had created. |
| �Eaglemon Digivolve to�Abdulmon!� �Abdulmon, carry us up in pairs!� Kerri ordered, and Abdulmon nodded in acknowledgement. First he carried up Khalid, Sam and their Digimon, then Tim, Adrian and their Digimon, then Andrea, Audrey and their Digimon, and finally Kerri, Darren and Moosemon. Upon finishing his last trip, Abdulmon returned to his Eaglemon form, and the Digidestined set off, trying to find Dracomon. �This is hopeless, we need to find out where he is in this place!� Kerri complained. �He might be in the main hall.� Andrea said simply. �What?� Kerri asked, looking at her friend. �When I was alone, I explored this place with Salamon.� Andrea explained. �I noticed that at this time of the morning Dracomon has breakfast in his hall.� �Well done, Andi.� Tim congratulated. �Where is the main hall?� �Follow me.� Andrea said, before running ahead of the group. The others followed, and eventually they reach the balcony of the main hall, looking down at Dracomon as he ate his meal. �How do we go about this?� Sam asked. �I�ve got a good idea.� Shocamon said, climbing over the banister and dropping to the floor below. �Shocamon Digivolve to�Fusemon!� The champion Digimon shouted as he landed on Dracomon�s table, splitting the wood furniture in half. Dracomon calmly looked up at Fusemon. �Digidestined!� Dracomon shouted. �You have intruded on my breakfast! How rude!� �Rude?� Eaglemon repeated, jumping down next to Fusemon. �Rude is grabbing me by the neck through a cage and threatening to roast me! Eaglemon Digivolve to�Abdulmon!� �Great, two champion Digimon.� Dracomon observed. �You Digidestined are very predictable. Your arrival here in my home was quite expected. Just as your deaths are expected.� �It�ll take a lot more than you to kill us, Dracomon!� Salamon exclaimed, jumping down. �Salamon Digivolve to�Gatomon!� �Ah yes, that cat Digimon.� Dracomon said. �I have yet to pay you back for attacking me while I was chasing that annoying bird. It was most off-putting.� �Hey she saved our lives, right Slipmon?� Tridemon said. �Right.� Slipmon agreed, and the two Digimon jumped down. �Tridemon Digivolve to�Novadramon!� �Slipmon Digivolve to�Hereticmon!� �Enough of this, Digidestined!� Dracomon exclaimed. �If you wish to fight me, do so! It�s becoming tiring waiting for the opportunity to kill you!� �It feels the same way for us, Dracomon!� Slythamon shouted. �Yeah, after you ran away yesterday!� Moosemon added. �There�s nowhere to run now!� Onomon said, and the three jumped down. �Slythamon Digivolve to�Serpemon!� �Moosemon Digivolve to�Wumon!� �Onomon Digivolve to�Katonomon!� �Great, looks like we�re all here now.� Dracomon said, as the Digidestined jumped down from the balcony, aided by Hereticmon and Novadramon. �Shockcannon!� Fusemon declared, firing two massive balls of electricity at Dracomon. �Antler Shot!� Wumon exclaimed, firing his antlers at the foe. �Snake Pulse!� Serpemon cried, firing an arc of energy at Dracomon. �Money Shot!� Katonomon shouted, firing a volley of white balls of energy. �Mega Wing!� Abdulmon screamed, charging up a red ball of energy and firing it at the enemy. Dracomon held up his hands and blocked Fusemon�s attack, as well as Wumon�s attack. Then he jumped upwards and grabbed onto some rafters above, causing the other attacks to miss. Hereticmon and Novadramon looked up at him. �Darkness Grenades!� Hereticmon cried, firing a salvo of dark balls of energy. �Flame Bubble!� Novadramon cried, firing a ball of fire at Dracomon. Hereticmon�s attacks bounced off of Dracomon as if they weren�t there; he swung forward on the rafters to avoid Novadramon�s fireball. �Why doesn�t Hereticmon�s attack affect him?� Khalid asked. Adrian looked at the ground in thought. �I think it�s because�they�re both virus attributes!� �Does that mean Hereticmon�s attacks only work on vaccine and data Digimon?� Khalid asked. �I dunno.� Adrian said. �I do know that it counts for Dracomon and Hereticmon. We already know that Dracomon�s attack doesn�t affect Hereticmon. But why?� �You�re acrobatic, Dracomon,� Gatomon cried, jumping up and grabbing the other side of the rafters, �but it�ll take more than that to beat this digi-kitty!� �Viral Blade!� Dracomon shouted, firing a set of energy at Gatomon. The cat Digimon jumped away to dodge. �Lightning Claw!� Gatomon cried, jumping at Dracomon, but the evil Digimon swept her aside. Gatomon landed on Abdulmon�s back. �Are you okay, Gatomon?� Abdulmon asked. �I�m fine thanks, Abdulmon.� Gatomon informed him, standing on his back. �Viral Blade!� Dracomon declared, slashing downwards and firing another trio of energy stripes at Fusemon. The champion Digimon shielded himself with his arm cannons. �Antler Shot!� Wumon cried, firing his antlers at Dracomon. �Viral Blade!� Dracomon repeated, destroying Wumon�s antlers with his attack. The attack continued into Wumon, who jumped away just in time. Dracomon jumped down onto Novadramon�s shoulders. �Hey!� Novadramon shouted, hitting upwards at Dracomon. �Viral Blade!� Dracomon announced, firing the arcs of energy at Fusemon. They hit him, and he turned back into Shocamon. �Shocamon, no!� Tim cried, running over to his Digimon and picking him up. �Viral Blade!� Dracomon repeated, slashing his claws down and firing energy at Serpemon. Hereticmon tried to protect his ally, but couldn�t reach her in time, and the attack hit and transformed Serpemon back into Slythamon. Dracomon jumped down from Novadramon�s shoulders and kicked the champion Digimon in the back. He fell to his knees, and tried to stand again, but Dracomon wouldn�t let him, kicking him down again. Novadramon transformed back into Tridemon. �Dracomon�s attacks hurt our Digimon so much because they�re dark.� Adrian figured. �But darkness has no effect on darkness. So we need something that will be able to stand up to Dracomon, but isn�t dark.� �We don�t have any Digimon like that!� Audrey exclaimed. �We might do.� Adrian replied. �We need the ultimates.� �Mega Wing!� Abdulmon cried. �Lightning Claw!� Gatomon added, jumping off of Abdulmon�s back and attempting to scratch Dracomon�s face. Dracomon grabbed the cat Digimon and held her up, using her as a shield to block Abdulmon�s attack. Gatomon screamed and became Salamon again. Dracomon jumped up and punched Abdulmon into the ground next to Salamon. �Viral Blade!� Dracomon cried, slashing in a semi-circle downwards, hitting Abdulmon, and he transformed back to Eaglemon. �Eaglemon!� Kerri screamed. �Leave him alone!� �There�s only one thing that can stand up to Dracomon�s evil.� Adrian said. �What?� Tim asked, holding Shocamon in his arms. �This is gonna sound corny, but only the power of good can stand up to him.� Adrian explained. �Goodness is the only thing that can resist and overcome evil.� �A good Digimon?� Audrey said. �You mean a vaccine attribute?� �Not just any vaccine attribute.� Adrian said. �One that�s especially good.� �Viral Blade!� Dracomon cried, firing energy at Wumon. They hit the elk�s flank, and he transformed back into his rookie state. �There�s only Hereticmon and Katonomon left now!� Khalid observed. �Shit�� Adrian muttered, as he watched Hereticmon and Dracomon grapple with each other. �If Hereticmon�s a virus attribute, that means his ultimate form is probably a virus attribute too. So Katonomon�s�� Adrian looked down at his chest; his crest was glowing a bright purple colour. He took his tag out from beneath his T-shirt and held it up in the air. �Katonomon!� He shouted as loud as he could. �Digivolve!� �Katonomon Digivolve to�� The dragon Digimon cried as he jumped up into the air. He was surrounded by a huge ball of purple energy with the symbol of Knowledge on its side. Eventually the ball broke, revealing a humanoid Digimon whose size filled the height of the room. He had four white angel wings and a black mask covering his eyes. His flanks were coloured red. ��AngeKatonomon!� �AngeKatonomon?� Adrian repeated, looking up at his Digimon. Dracomon gave Hereticmon an uppercut, knocking Khalid�s Digimon back and making him De-Digivolve to his Slipmon form. �What now?� Dracomon asked, looking up at AngeKatonomon. �I am AngeKatonomon, an angel Digimon.� AngeKatonomon stated proudly. �My Porn Blast attack saps evil Digimon of their energy, and my Wanker�s Fist attack is sufficient to destroy all that is evil!� �Your what fist attack?� Audrey exclaimed. Andrea and Kerri giggled. �Badass!� Adrian muttered, looking up at AngeKatonomon. �You cannot destroy me, AngeKatonomon!� Dracomon said. �Viral Blade!� AngeKatonomon held up a hand and blocked Dracomon�s attack. �Yeah, way to show him who�s boss, AngeKatonomon!� Audrey shouted. �Porn Blast!� AngeKatonomon announced, holding his hands apart as an oval of energy appeared between them. AngeKatonomon fired this oval at Dracomon. Dracomon tried to block the attack, but failed, and it hit, spreading all over his body and surrounding him. He fell to the ground in pain. �My energy�my strength�it�s leaving me!� �Yeah, get him, AngeKatonomon!� Adrian exclaimed. AngeKatonomon held up his fist and it glowed white. �Wanker�s Fist!� He exclaimed, punching forward and propelling the energy forward. This energy hit Dracomon, and with one final scream, he split apart into dust. The Digidestined cheered as Dracomon died, and AngeKatonomon glowed white and shrunk down. Soon the energy dissipated, revealing a black tadpole-like Digimon. It floated over to Adrian. �What are you?� Adrian asked. �Hi Adrian!� It spoke. �I�m Semon, the in-training form of Onomon!� �Oh.� Adrian acknowledged simply. Suddenly, Adrian�s Digivice beeped. He held it up and pressed one of the buttons on it, as the screen indicated. A hologram of Gennai appeared. �Hey, Gennai!� Tim said, looking at the man. �Digidestined!� Gennai spoke. �Congratulations on defeating Dracomon, but now you must escape from his castle as quickly as possible.� �Why?� Khalid asked. �Because now that Dracomon�s dead, the part of the Digiworld that was infected with his evil is going to reset itself to how it was before.� Gennai explained. �Which means his castle is going to collapse. You must escape immediately� if not sooner.� �Oh shit!� Khalid shouted. �We need to get out!� The hologram of Gennai faded and Adrian replaced his Digivice on his belt, as the Digidestined all picked up their injured Digimon and ran out of one of the doors at the far end of the hall. They ran around the corridors of the castle, searching frantically for an exit. The structure around them was beginning to collapse; stones and bricks fell from the walls and ceiling, and a low rumbling sound deafening their attempts to converse with each other. They found a spiral staircase and began climbing it to the upper floor. As they were climbing, however, a brick fell from the ceiling and the hit the stairs, causing a hole in the flight. Andrea didn�t see the hole and put a foot in it. With a scream she fell into the hole, supported only by one hand, as the other was dedicated to carrying the injured and comatose Salamon. �Help!� Andrea cried. �Andi!� Kerri screamed, returning to her friend. Khalid and Sam did the same, grabbing hold of Andrea�s arms. �Here, Kerri, take Salamon�look after her�� Andrea mumbled, passing the puppy Digimon up to her friend. �Shut up, Andi!� Sam cried. �You saved our lives, so we�re gonna save yours!� �Yeah, this isn�t the end!� Khalid agreed, and the two boys started to pull Andrea out of the hole. However, their strength was depleted from their struggle to escape, and therefore they couldn�t lift Andrea out of the hole. �No! Save yourselves!� Andrea cried. �We ain�t gonna leave you, Andi!� Khalid screamed. �Yeah, we can�t go on without you!� Sam concurred. Andrea smiled and looked at the two boys� chests; their crests were both glowing. The energy from the crests surrounded their arms and with a mighty tug, they managed to pull Andrea out from the cleft. �Thanks guys.� Andrea said, with a sigh of relief. �You can thank us later.� Kerri said, carrying Eaglemon and returning Salamon to Andrea. �We need to get out now.� Andrea nodded and the four of them followed the rest of the group upstairs. They found the hole that they had entered through and one by one jumped down from the castle into the moat below. The eight humans just about found the strength to carry their Digimon through the water. With one final effort, they helped their Digimon onto the bank, and climbed onto the grassy verge. Exhausted, the group collapsed, with the exception of Adrian who had a little more energy left, due to the fact that his Digimon didn�t need to be carried. He turned back the castle and smiled as it collapsed inwards, leaving nothing but a pile of rubble where it stood. Adrian turned back to the rest of the group and also collapsed. |
| The figure approached the sleeping group and laughed. With surprisingly little effort, he placed them all inside a compartment he had prepared especially for the task and carried them off. |
