B-17 of today

Below: front view of the B-17. Note that this plane is painted as "Memphis Belle", but I'm not sure if this is the real one or not as some Fortresses are later repainted.

Below: a B-17G. Notice the chin-turret, which a a new feature of the B-17G. Compared to the "Memphis Belle" above--"Memphis Belle" is a B-17F and thus does not have the chin-turret.

Below: B-17G "Nine O Nine". Note the yellow bombs painted around the nose: which bomb represents one bombing mission. The "Nine O Nine" is one the Fortresses that completed most number of misions.

Below: the "Memphis Belle" movie. No, this is not the real plane too. And the adventures of their last mission...nice movie though, many shots of the mighty Fortress.
