Tidus is our �hero� of the story. He is a cheerful young teenager. He is a star blitzball player for his home team, the Zanarkand Abes. Despite his cheery attitude he has very negative feeling for his father. He resents him to the point of hatred. His father has disappeared when he was a child and nothing has been heard from him since. Tidus is a formidable character in battle. He is best at fighting swift four-legged animals. He will be a valuable asset as the game continues. |

Yuna is the daughter of the famous high summoner, Lord Braska. It is because of her father that Sin was defeated and brought about the Calm, or a time of peace lasting for about ten years or so. Following in her father's footsteps, she desires to help of the peoples of Spira by helping bring about another Calm through her summoning abilities. She will have to go on a pilgrimage to attain Aeons throughout the world of Spira. Yuna's innocence makes her somewhat naive to things. This can prove to be a fault at certain points in the game. Yuna's summoning abilities are probably the most important abilities in the entire game. Yuna's Aeons definitely tip the table in your favor as you fight outrageously strong bosses. As Yuna's abilities increase, so will her Aeons. |

Auron is one of the legendary guardians that accompanied Lord Braska on his pilgrimage to defeat Sin ten years ago. Shrouded in mystery, Auron helps guide Yuna on her quest to defeat Sin. Auron is the samurai or knight of the party. He will be a valuable physical attacker as time progresses. He has the ability to pierce enemy armor with his huge sword of 15, Quistis now instructs Squall and his companions at Balamb Garden. Contrary to her cool exterior, she occasionally has a difficult time coping with frustration and as a result can become depressed over trivial matters. |

A Ronso warrior, Kimahri serves as one of Yuna's guardians. Having protected Yuna since she was a child, he tends to be a little over-protective of her. Kimahri serves as the Blue Mage and Dragoon of the party. His ability, Lancet, allows him to learn the abilities of the enemy. When his overdrive gauge fills he can use these blue magic abilities or use his initial overdrive, Jump. Kimahri is a well rounded character who will be instrumental on your journey if you wisely choose the right path on the Sphere Grid. |

Wakka is the captain of the Besaid Aurochs, a blitzball team. He plans on retiring after this year's annual tournament so that he may serve as a better guardian to Yuna. Wakka is a devout follower to the teachings of Yevon. Wakka is best used against flying creatures. His deadly blitzball will take out a flying creature with almost unfailing accuracy. As the game progresses, he will be almost as powerful as the strong warrior Auron learn the abilities of the enemy. When his overdrive gauge fills he can use these blue magic abilities or use his initial overdrive, Jump. Kimahri is a well rounded character who will be instrumental on your journey if you wisely choose the right path on the Sphere Grid. |

Rikku is an Al Bhed with a very upbeat and positive personality. She is a master at understanding machinery. There is a special connection between her and Yuna that you will understand as the game progresses. She comes into the game as Yuna's guardian well into the middle of the game. Rikku is sort of the the Thief and Chemist of the party. After stealing and item she can use it to kill the enemy. When her Overdrive gauge is full, she can mix two items together for big damage or extreme curing of party members. Another positive quality about Rikku is her experience with machines. She can dismantle any machine simply by using the Steal command

Lulu is probably one of the more experienced and wise guardians of the game. Although she can be a bit cynical at times, you never have to wonder what she's thinking. She treats as if she was Yuna's little sister. Although she may seem insensitive at times, there are depths to her emotions that only her closest friends can understand.
