ENGINE STATISTICS
* A red block was choosen because the red block can be bored out more than any other 6cyl holden, it was bored out 60thou. *Instead of using the traditional red head, I chose to use the head off a black motor because the black head can fit a lot larger valves than the red or blue. The head was fully worked, it received the largest valves possible and was ported and polished. *Starfire conrods were choosen for their strength, which were paired up with a set of flattop pistons. *The motor has been built for torque, so it received a high torque camshaft. *Air and petrol is sucked through a new 320 holley. The 320 holley was chosen because 202's don't idle well with 350's. *Exhaust gases escape from the car through a set of extractors and a 2 inch sports exhaust. The power is all transferred to the wheels using a 2.79 banjo diff, which I'm sure will have to be replaced after a few burnouts. All the separate engine components were sent away to be modified, but the engine was assembled and installed by my Dad and I.
CELICA 5PD GEARBOX
The car originally had a 3spd column shift auto. To convert it to a celica 5spd box, custom bellhousing had to be sent up from Castlemaine Rod Shop to adapt the celica box the 202 block and custom tail shaft and crossmember also had to be used.
