So I'm a drummer. I'm no Keith Moon...fuck, I'm not even a...hmm...crappy drummer...ah well...my goal was first to play like Dave Grohl: loud, fast, hard, and good. He's still one of my drummer role models, but I'd like to be able to play like Joey Jordison as well, with a double kick, his speed, accuracy, skill, and musicality.

I'm not that bad actually. I can play more than the standard rock beat (fills, etc.). I find that I can learn by putting some good drumming on my headphones, and drumming along. I've done this with quite a lot of Marilyn Manson, some NIN, Nirvana, The Knack (My Sharona!), SOAD's Toxicity, and more. Playing something more difficult (like Toxicity) helps me improve, by striving to be able to play faster, and be prepared ahead of time (ok, in 2 measures I gotta remember that fill).

I'm currently in one band, Caffeine Junkies. we're sorta like Matthew Good Band, I guess. Not very heavy, alt. rock I guess. I've been kinda invited into another band, a horror punk band I guess. Nothing's up with that yet.

I play a 5-piece kit: 14" snare, 12" 13" and 16" toms, 20" kick. I have 14" Sabian B8 Pro hi-hats, 10" B8 Pro Splash, a very old hi-hat top thats warped and bent and such, that I drilled holes in and added rivets, so it's now a sizzle crash (13"). I have a 16" Sabian B8 Pro crash, 20" Sabian B8 Pro ride, and another warped cymbal, a 14" crash thats bent and warped and such. I use it as a china.

I like to play alt. rock, metal, and loud. I experiment daily, trying new things. I usually fail, and have to work at it, but I've learned some tricks.

I guess that's it for now. If your band needs a drummer, Let Me Know! I'm very interested!
