*********************************************** 3x3 Eyes Volume Summaries - 16 Written by: Mr. Kaiyanwang Email: Sanjiyan82@hotmail.com Website: http://www.geocities.com/mr_kaiyanwang *********************************************** Characters: Pai/Parvati IV - The last and most powerful Sanjiyan Unkara alive. Has a split personality; the cute and adorable Pai, and the arrogant and powerful Parvati IV. Apparently the fiancee of a creature named "KoKo"? Yakumo Fujii - The Wu of Pai/Parvati. Yakumo is a 17 year old (technically) "normal" HS student turned immortal. Pretty angry with the apparent forced marriage between Pai and the creature. S. Connelly/Madurai - An old gambler that resides in Wales. Seems to be quite rich, too. Was injured in the last volume and will be in Yakumo's care for a couple of chapters. Galga - He has become another of Benares' men. Fights Pai-tachi in this volume. Chen Aguri - Yougekisha's chief editor, and first appeared in volume 1. Looks to be traveling with Pai-tachi throughout this volume. Haan Hazart - The magic merchant Yakumo encountered during his search for Pai. It is from him where Yakumo gets his Beast Magics. Falls in love with Yohko in this volume. Heh heh heh. Yohko Ayanokouji - Formerly a servant of Benares, and also the water sprite Houasyou. She is one of Pai-tachi's most trusted friends. Helps Yakumo on his search for more Beasties. Mama-san - Yakumo's boss from Culture Shock. Right now she's the fiancial answer to any and all of Pai-tachi's fiancial problems. ^^;; Naparva - The same monk that Pai-tachi (or is that Yohko-tachi?) met during their volume 4-5 days. Helps sent Pai-tachi (or is that Sanjiyan-tachi?) to the Holy Place. Summaries: Rubbed The Wrong Way - Yakumo is having flashbacks about what happened in the past volume, and appears to be pretty frustrated. It shows when Pai asks him to have dinner with her. He demands to know why Pai pitied the creature in the flashbacks, but Pai pauses and doesn't say anything. "Forget it", Yakumo said before taking off. Meanwhile, Chen Aguri is talking to the creature's mother about Benares over dinner. He tells her that Yakumo and Pai are the only ones capable of defeating the powerful Benares, to which the mother laughs. Just then, Yakumo arrives and asks for a cattle. He announces that he's going to take Connelly and leave. Chen asks him to have dinner, but Yakumo refuses. At that point, Pai's "fiancee" appears, glares at Yakumo, and says something to the effect of, "Now that he's leaving, I'm overjoyed. I'm gonna eat a big hurl!" Yakumo comically responses by devouring everything on the dinner mat. The creature throws a fit ("Bastard!") and Yakumo responses quickly ("You wanna fight!?"). He takes Connelly on his back and begins to leave. Chen asks him,"What about Sanjiyan?" Yakumo replies that she could do whatever she wants. He's not supporting this "forced marriage". And guess who arrives at this particular moment? Pai looks at Yakumo, almost pleading with him. Yakumo tells her to take care and leaves ... for good? Run! - Somewhere in the liquor storage room, the creature, "KoKo", is having a blast that Yakumo left and is drinking. Let's hope he doesn't have a car. Anyway, he gloats to his mother how he won and that Pai now "belongs to him". The mother scolds him and tells him that Pai doesn't belong to anyone. A drunken KoKo screams at his own mother about how he was never loved because of his ugly looks. He drinks some more. Meanwhile, Pai is in her room crying her eyes out and flashing back to the last chapter when Yakumo left. At that moment, KoKo's mother enters her room. Pai tries to hide her tears away, but the mother knows other wise. The mother brings Pai to the liquor room, and tells her KoKo's story. It seems that he had a fiancee long ago, but killed her when the Liquid Power turned him into a monster. She called him a monster, and he killed her as a result. The mother then proceeds to tell Pai that she should be with Yakumo, so she must run! But wait ... KoKo has awakened and has apparently heard everything! Release - KoKo screams in anger about how Pai and his own mother sees him as a monster, and attacks! He slashes Pai away, and his mother yells at him. "You're drunk, child!" she scolds. KoKo tears off his clothing to reveal a talisman paper on his body. He grabs it, screaming that he doesn't need it because he's human, too. Elsewhere, Yakumo is in a shelter somewhere nursing the injured Connelly while Chen is snoring like a pig. He walks out and shoots a Kuan-Yaa into the sky as practice. Suddenly, someone comments about the speed of the Kuan- Yaa -- it's Connelly! He apologizes about not knowing the effects of the Liquid Power as well as Pai. Yakumo tells him that it was Pai's decision, and that he doesn't understand what she could be thinking. Connelly tells him that maybe she pities KoKo. This is where Yakumo is frustrated -- why would she pity KoKo?? Connelly suggests the following: "Maybe she knows exactly how he feels." This obviously confuses Yakumo, and Connelly continues: "Where Pai- sama is standing, what that creature looks like now ... may be a foreshadow of what she will look like in the future." Yakumo is shocked, and wants to know more -- but wait! An explosion surprises the hell out of both of them (as well as Chen), and they see some sort of monster. Yakumo goes off to investigate ... We Will Die Together - KoKo is thrashing wildly, killing some unfortunate civilians. As Yakumo arrives on the scene, he notices Fei-Oh transporting Pai and KoKo's mother? Over there, Pai is trying to reason with KoKo. She tells him that she understands his pain, but KoKo isn't convinced. "How would you understand!?" he screams, thrashing everything in sight. The mother explains to her child that Pai understands Liquid Power and knows that she might turn into a monster like him. She tells KoKo that Pai was hiding that fact from Yakumo all along. But is Mr. KoKo listening? No. He attacks the two of them by bashing Fei- Oh and spitting some gunk at them. But wait! Before the gunk could touch Pai or anyone else, a blast blocks it away! It's Yakumo! "Now I know what you were hiding from me." he said, appearing from behind all of the smoke. He looks sternly at Pai. "If you turn into a monster and lose your sense of being, I will end your life. We will die together." he said as he held out a hand to our favorite Sanjiyan. Pai takes his hand and the two are reunited ...! KoKo, on the other hand, doesn't care for this reunion and decides that he wants to kill everyone. His own mother tries one last time to stop him, but of course it doesn't work. Yakumo tells the two to back away and blasts a Kuan-Yaa at KoKo!! Pulverize - The Kuan-Yaa blasts KoKo and causes a large explosion that knocks our cast around. Yakumo tells Pai to evaculate the town. Pai asks him where they should go, but the Wu isn't sure yet. KoKo's mother suggests for them to use the paper talisman to calm her son down, but they tell her that they can't touch it. He further attacks KoKo to the mother's distaught. Yakumo tells her that he won't kill her son, he's just going to blast off his arms to leave him immobilized and unable to hurt anyone. Pai notices that KoKo's wound was spewing off poisonous gunk and calls Yakumo to look. He does, and a solution comes to him. He plans to boil KoKo with his gunk! Yakumo considers using Kuan-Yaa because the Beastie has extremely high temperture, but it also does high damage. KoKo attacks, interrupting his thoughts. Pai gets away safely with Fei-Oh, but Yakumo and KoKo's mother are knocked into some couple's apartment. He tells the couple living there to run away (which they do), then uses Tou-Chao to slice KoKo's incoming tentacle. More poisonous gunk spews from the wound and lands on Yakumo, causing him pain. Yakumo finds a nearby lamp and smashes it onto KoKo's tentacle, burning it. The monster cries in pain and thrashes Yakumo! Fire Trick - Pai is worried, and KoKo cries in pain and speculating that Yakumo wants him dead. Below, the village people watches in awe. One blabbermouth laughs and says that there really IS a monster. KoKo resents that remark. Yakumo yells for Pai to use Fei-Oh to throw a barrel at KoKo. She apologizes as KoKo cries in pain. Suddenly, KoKo claims that he has the power of the Liquid Power and yikes! -- he smashes Fei-Oh into the ground. The impact knocks Pai almost unconscious. Yakumo checks up on her, and she tells him to save KoKo. Yakumo tells her that he understands, but that he's got no other choice. Pai begs him not to kill KoKo, but Yakumo couldn't reply. Above in the sky, KoKo calls those below "stupid and insensitive", and threatens to kill them all. He tells them that it's what God has fated on them!! Yakumo and Pai gasps, and Yakumo decides to fight back with Kuan-Yaa to the horrors of Pai and KoKo's mother. However, Kuan-Yaa makes several swift turns around KoKo just before the death blow ...? Yakumo screams in pain as he makes his arm turn and turn ... the result being Kuan-Yaa completely "wrapping" KoKo! Please Don't Say Only Sad Things - Elsewhere, Connelly and Chen are watching the events. Chen comments on the giant "Lightball" and Connelly explains to him that it's really a rotated Kuan-Yaa. He explains that it must be BOILING HOT inside. However, Connelly alsos says that if Yakumo dares to expell such powerful Beasts as Kuan-Yaa for any extended amount of time, it'll affect him ... "A kinda stupid move, in other words." Meanwhile, Yakumo is exhausted, and Kuan-Yaa dissolves. Out comes KoKo back in his "normal" form, and he continues whining about how he could never be understood of. He demands to know why it's "wrong" to be ugly and why it's "wrong" for a monster to love a human being. He tells them that they're all dead, and proceeds to slash ...... and Pai gets in the way. She tells him that it's not "wrong", and KoKo then demands to know why he;s hated. Pai replies that no one hates him; that it's only because they can't see the real him inside. KoKo decides that Pai has said too many lies, and resumes his slashing when suddenly ...... he's kissed by Pai! She tells him not to say anymore sad things, and that he isn't a monster. Harmony - Pai hugs KoKo and tells him that he isn't a monster. Yakumo and the mother watches in awe. Pai, in tears, tells KoKo that the only one whose ever really thought of hims as a monster was himself! At that moment, KoKo screams, and, with his tentacles, suddenly abducts Pai! Yakumo and KoKo's mother gives chase in the name of Fei-Oh! Elsewhere in the mountains, Pai tells KoKo that he needed not to do this. She ain't gonna go anywhere. To her surprise, she finds KoKo in tears. There's a cave nearby, and they go in. Yakumo isn't far behind and jumps into the cave, too. Inside, Yakumo and mother could hear KoKo tell his story to Pai. They decide not to show themselves just yet. KoKo says that Pai was the only one able to get him back to his senses, and really hates that he can't complete with Yakumo. At this point, the Wu gets his cue and appears. KoKo greets them calmly. KoKo's mother hands him the paper charm, and he rips it to pieces. He says he doesn't need such things, and proceeds to offer Pai the Liquid Power and if he could join her. She accepts. Trouble On Earth - Pai tries the Liquid Power again, sitting in front of a Sanjiyan skeleton. Yakumo and KoKo are there as well, and Connelly watches from the cave entrance. The ball from the skeleton seems to be absorbed by Pai, and everyone watches in awe. Later, Pai is seen asleep peacefully, and KoKo asks her mother if Pai is alright. Chen can be seen in the back- ground eating. The mother replies that Pai has been sleeping, and the three of them assumes that since there hasn't been any physical changes to Pai, then she must have passed the Liquid test. Mean-while, Yakumo is screaming in pain and agony. Connelly is there with him, and he explains that the pain should be expected because of the Liquid Power in Pai. He then tells the Wu to attack him, and Yakumo replies with a "no way". So Connelly will have to force an attack out of the Wu, which is exactly what he does. Yakumo finally attacks. Back to KoKo, he and Chen are talking about the effects of the Liquid Power, when at that moment, Pai awakes ...? Going back to Connelly, he deflects the Kuan-Yaa that Yakumo had threw at him earlier, and comments that his speculation was right. Pai's little to no physical changes and Yakumo's weak Kuan-Yaa had confirmed that something was right about the Liquid Power -- at that moment, Sanjiyan appears and tells us that "the Liquid Power is weakening. Something's happened." Dive - Yakumo is surprise to see Sanjiyan. Sanjiyan tells him that she could not have been affected by the Liquid's little power. Connelly suddenly bows down to Sanjiyan and tells her that this is the first time he's been in her presence and that he apologizes for the times he's gotten her into danger. Sanjiyan tells him not to worry -- she can't be harmed. Yakumo agrees, because Benares needs her for the Humanity Ritual, and as long as he needs her, she can't die. Connelly thinks that might make sense ... but if Sanjiyan is being protected by Benares or his men, why couldn't he sense them? Parvati and everyone else speculates that they aren't far off if they said Benares had something to do with the Liquid Power. Back in the cave, Connelly feels the Sanjiyan skeleton's skull, and comments on how weak the power is. He thinks that some-one must have sucked away most of the power inside the skull. Parvati and Yakumo decides that they will look inside the skull and uses a spell to do so. Before departing, Parvati tells Connelly that if they aren't back in 5 minutes, pull them away. Inside the skull is an astral surrounding, and two shapes are formed -- Yakumo and Sanjiyan. While Yakumo appeared in normal clothing, Sanjiyan is ... well, naked. Yakumo comments on her nudity while she explains to him about what she speculates will find, and the Wu gets a punch in the face for not listening. She tells him that if he wanted to see her with clothes on, then all he had to do was think so. So does, and out comes Parvati in a "Sailor Moon" like outfit. Yakumo calls himself a pervert. He wonders why he didn't choose a t-shirt or a swim suit for his Sanjiyan Master? A nurse or a police officer outfit would also be a good joke to pull on Sanjiyan right now. Parvati, on the other hand, is apparently shocked by something. Suddenly, they are pulled vaccum-like into a pentagram! They get sucked in, and on the other side was none other than Benares!!! Weakening - Yakumo exclaims this fact rather loudly, and Sanjiyan tells him to hush up. She explains that he can't see them -- but any wrong move and Benares WILL notice. They quiet down, and watch as Benares summon a giant spider-like Beast with clown faces. The thing shrieks, and we can see Benare's bones under his jacket. Energy from the clown-spider is absorbed by the Wu and Benares's body heals. Yakumo wonders why Benares, a Wu, would need to have his body healed in this fashion? Sanjiyan tells him to shut up, and yanks him away to somewhere else. Yakumo demands to know where they are going, and Sanjiyan tells him that he's loud. At that point, they find themselves standing inside a chamber. They enter like ghosts without opening the doors, and inside they find a container surrounded by creatures. Sanjiyan walks up to the container, and tells her Wu that if she's correct, then Kaiyanwang should be inside the container. Yakumo is obviously shocked. Suddenly, the chamber doors open, and Benares is there. He demands to know who's there, and threatens to trap them in the astral plane so they could never return to their bodies. However, as he prepares to use his spell, his arm breaks away. Sanjiyan and Yakumo takes this a a cue to run away, and they escape with valuable information: Benares is pretty weak at this point, and NOW is the best time to fight him if they want to win!! Parvati then says to hurry and contact Yohko! To The Treasure Room - Elsewhere, Haan is seen in a village somewhere. He finds a man sitting down and the two of them exchange secret codes. After the exchange, the two briefly hug. The man asks Haan when did he came back, and Haan tells him "last night". So anyway, the man asks what he could do, and Haan tells him that he needs directions. At that moment, two man appears and tells the man and Haan that there was a "strange looking transvestite" causing trouble. Haan's face turns blue because he knew who it was -- Mama-san! They find her, and she's with Yohko. Haan says that he thought he told Mama-san to stay at the hotel? Mama-san is enraged because she says that since she paid for th etrip, she can go anywhere she pleases. Haan tells Mama-san that she's not the one he was worried about, and Yohko goes into defense that she could take care of herself. She goes on to ask the man that Haan was talking to about a place. The man tells her that there are lots of monsters in that place. Meanwhile, Yakumo is making calls, and he is told that Haan, Yohko, and Mama-san departed to Pakastan for a while. Steve and Ling-Ling are also gone, though no one knows where. He'd left a phone number for them to call when they get back. Drinking, Parvati tells Yakumo to wait for someone to call. Back to Haan, his friend had brought to them a temple looking place. He tells them that ever since its owner, Saruraama, died, there has been thieves and robbers. However, no one has ever made it out alive. Yohko says that she would be fine, and that she has "water". Without another word, she goes inside. Haan follows her, obviously worried about her well-being. And find her he does! He finds her in the middle of a kill, and, instead of intimated (as Yohko believes), he finds her appealing. Yohko tells him that she doesn't blame him for dispising her, and Haan is in disbelief. Suddenly, a monster appears without warning! At that precise moment, Haan's hand glows and extends! It forms into a axe-like weapon and slashes the monster dead. Haan and Yohko both have hilarious expressions on their faces. Meanwhile, Yakumo is staring at the telephone, waiting for a call and wondering if his summoning of his Beastie on Haan has worked while a drunk Parvati drools. We Meet Again - Fur away, Benares tells Galga that someone was trying to get to his master in the astral plane. He says that even though he isn't sure who it was, it was troubling. Else- where, Yakumo and Parvati has finally found Yohko and friends. Yohko was explaining that in the heart of the Holy Land, in "Kaiyan City" was where Benares would often call forth his servants when he needed them. She expects him to be there. Connelly agrees, and Yakumo decides to go find Naparva so they can go to the Holy Land. Yohko regrets about not having able to find another Beast Magic for Yakumo, but the Wu tells her that it's alright. Benares is so weakened that one or two extra Beasties won't make any difference. At this point, Haan comes in with a HUGE Beast Egg. He says that this must be the special Beast Egg that Saruraama's clan had specially raised. Yakumo opens up the egg, and everyone is hopeful that it'll be of great use. Out comes a ... giant balloon thing. Yakumo carries on one of the most hilarious expressions in all of the manga. He adopts the Beastie anyway, and the gang decides to go to Tibet. In Tibet, Connelly says that his method in defeating and sealing off Benares for good has two flaws: 1) The Benares now is stronger than the Benares then. He isn't sure if the spell would even work for the current Benares anymore. 2) He's too old to perform the spell. Yakumo offers himself to be taught, but Connelly says that he's too weak. Houasyou, too. Naparva offers himself, but Connelly says that oridinary human beings will crumble if they try. KoKo? No chance. His ki is too spread out (Haan has a hilarious expression on this panel). And this spell is too dangerous to be taught to Parvati. Connelly then goes on to explain how and why he executed the spell: There was once an evil Ryuushin (Dragon God) that ate and ate the Holy Land for three days straight. One the third day, it gained intelligence and a human form. It continued to do evil things, and finally, Connelly had to seal him up. Naparva hands a knife to Yakumo, and they all (Yakumo, Pai, Haan, Yohko, Connelly, KoKo, Chen Aguri) reach the Holy Land in time. Connelly continues his story; that he had to seal up Benares for numerous reasons. In the shadows, Galga watches. Recollection - All of this happened 4000 years ago, Connelly explains. He was in what is known now as Wales, and he sealed him there. However, after his spell was completed, he lost all interests in everything and lead a normal human life. That was why 2000 years later he could not stop this meeting ... 2000 years later, he could not stop Shiva from meeting Benares. But something was wrong -- Yakumo wanted to know just how Shiva knew where Benares was? How did he know that Benares was sealed up in Wales?? At that moment, Parvati interrupts her Wu -- she could sense something foul in the air. Even Haan could tell as he announces their arrival -- several shapes suddenly appear and distort themselves to look like ... Parvati's! -- to Sanjiyan's horror. Connelly announces that it's all illusions, but the Parvati-clones were flirting with almost everyone! This was enough to cause Sanjiyan to blast them all into smithereens! Galga Again - Sanjiyan grins, obviously proud of what she did, then briefly faints. Her attack had cause a rather big explosion, and now everyone is scattered around. Yakumo comes to, and looks around for his friends. He finds an unconscious Pai lying on a rock. He rushes to her, but before he could get any closer, he is stopped by Galga! They exchange blows, and Galga eventurally gets the upper hand by impaling Yakumo's body with his entire arm. At this point, KoKo appears and tries to fight Galga. He gets his face blasted. Galga gloats about his upcoming victory, but is suddenly interrupted by Connelly!! An Oridinary Day With Yakumo-kun - Pai is alone in her apartment, having a drink and eating a bag of potato chips. She whines about how she's hungry and Yakumo was late for dinner. She mumbles and mumbles and mumbles ... until she gets a crazy idea about surprising Yakumo by cooking dinner! So Pai grabs a bunch of things -- squid, fish, shrimp, crab, curry, some vegetables -- and place them all inside a spell. Meanwhile, Yakumo is walking down the street with a takeout order of Eels. At that moment, Pai greets Yakumo ... with a giant monster with the body parts of a fish, crab, shrimp, and squid. Good grief!
