Introduction
These are my thoughts, deductions, and beliefs. Please approach them with an open mind. They all come purely from rational thought. I am athiest, not for any hatred or lack of faith. It is becuase the one thing we as humans can be sure of is rational thought. And as I see it every religion I have studied (Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Taoism, and others) all in essence are irrational. The Meaning of Life |

It is a question which has been struggled with since the begining of self awareness. Why are we here? What's the point? What are we supposed to do with our lives? I Beleive I have found the answer and, like most hard to find things, it was right under our noses! Through rational deductuction I have concluded that it all comes down to one all encompassing goal. Simply put, spend as much of your life as Happy as possible. That's it, just happiness. "A state of well being and contentment. A pleasurable satisfaction."(According to Webster) The trick on the personal level is to figure out what it is for you that will maximize your happiness both in the present and in the future. It's simplistic and uneventful but I challenge you to find fault in my reasoning, prove me wrong, or form another hypothesis which makes as much sense. |

God? |
|
|
According to the bible, and any person who believes in God, EVERYTHING was created by God. This is a very simple concept but it causes us to overlook something very important. If God created everything, that means, he created evil, death, pain, suffering, and torment, another words all the bad stuff too. The normal Christian reply to this statement is "He did not create these things, the devil did". But God created the Devil, at least the angel who would eventually be "the fallen one".
Another proposition accepted by all believers is that God is all knowing. Well in that case he would have known that Lucifer would become the Devil. Therefore God willingly created all of the evils in existence, if not directly, then indirectly! Which leads me to conclude the existence of only one of the following:

1)God doesn't exist
2)God is incompetent
3)God doesn't care
4)He is an Evil Entity |

Now this is a subject I have pondered considerably and decided that with the state of reality today one of the above must be true. There is killing, suffering, torment, and pain constantly, in fact it is necessary for life and is inherent in our nature. For some creatures to live they must kill other animals through torturous ways. Death and suffering should not be a necessity for life. Humans are content with reality because we ignore it's harshness. I do not believe that a biblical god could be evil, nor that he doesn't care about earthly goings on. It is contrary to what the bible says. If he is all knowing, and all powerful as the bible states, it is impossible for him to be incompetent. This leads me to conclude that a biblical God could not exist, and that the Bible is either a book of fairy tales, or a story of the greatest evangelist of all time, Jesus Christ. The one piece of information I'm left with after all this is that one of those must be true, and I hope it is that God could not exist. We'd be in a lot of trouble if it was of the others! |

Existence of Spirit? |

It is not debatable whether or not Human's have an Immaterial side. That is to say that there are parts of us that are intangible, not made up of bits of matter. We exhibit immaterial characteristics like imagination. Immaterial characteristics, by their nature, must come from an Immaterial entity. A living person is therefore dualistic. Part matterial, part Immaterial. |

Death and afterlife |
|
|
In Accordace with my belief in spirit I explain death, to some level, very easily. It is simply the seperation of your material entity, and your physical entity. If you think about it what is the difference between a dead body and a living person. One is inhabited and controled by a spirit, the other is deviod of a spirit and one is in working oredr, the other has broken. What I believe is that the spirit inhabits the body until it stops working. It is simply a vehicle. An Immaterial entity, once seperated with it's physical counterpart lacks the ability to interact on a physical plain. The only forms of communication humans engage in are all through a physical facilitator like a mouth and ears. Lose these facilitators and you can no longer communicate which is why you lose contact with the dead. You are left with feelings, memories and thoughts. Have you ever seemed to feel the presence of a departed loved one? Not contact, just a feeling that they are looking down on you, or a very strong memory, perhaps a Deja vu? These are all immaterial things, and all which is left after the physical entity is detached. Try to communicate with someone without eye contact, speech, physical presense, hearing, touch, or any other physical ability. You will find the same limited feeling that you would experience with the dead. This idea is not as comforting as heaven, or as much justice as hell but you realize that in an afterlife you are left with your thoughts, memories and feelings. Fill your life with negative thoughts, bad memories, and evil feelings, and that is what you are left with. But a good life will lead to good feelings, thoughts and memories for an eternity of reflection.. |
