Imperfect Me

I have sinned again,
Please forgive me,
Your forgiveness would mean everything to me.
I plead with You my weak disciplines of being a good soldier,
Perfection will always be far from me.

Your grace has carried me countless of times,
My merits account as voids dark as a shadow.
Can my joy be restored to fervency again?
I can only pray for Your love,
Though,
Perfection will always be far from me.

I ask for Your guiding, forming hands,
Mold me to someone that You can use.
Do what You must in building me,
Be patient, O Lord,
For I fear of my own evil self,
Perfection will always be far from me.

Never to be perfect,
Yet always striving to be,
Living to be like You.
In my many failures, I pray,
I will continue to grow,
Even so,
Perfection will always be far from me.
