This is my Wisconsin Gobbler taken on Friday May 5th 2000 at 10:30am. He was out looking for hens. Gobbling alone on an old pasture on top of ridge. I was down below calling w/ buddy Paul. As he worked his way around the old pasture we snuck up the other side and set up. With only one cluck he gobbled 4 times and came in to me. That's all she wrote.
My friend Paul Johnson. He was with me on his first Turkey hunt..... Those were not the clothes he hunted in either...
Here's my buddy Frank. This is his first Tom!!! Last year I wasn't able to get a gobbler in shooting range, just jakes and he past on them. This one was 22 pounds , 10 inch beard. Nice Bird!!!

"We got 5 birds in 3 days in Missouri......"
How we did in Wisconsin ; from left to right....... Hammy - 21 lb tom, 1st season. Me - 25 lb tom, 4th season. Doug - 24lb gobbler, 5th season. My Dad (Bill) - a lot of close calls but no luck. Bob - 1 jake and 1 big 26 lb tom 4th season.
That's me on the left and Hammy on the right with our Missouri gobblers. Mine was 23 pounds and had 2 - 8 inch beards.
I got this gobbler at 12:20pm on Sat April 29th. I was hunting my way back to the truck when I caught a glimps of him and his buddy picking through cow pies. I slowly dropped to ground and watched them at 50 yards. I gave a soft yelp w/ mouth call and they both looked up. They kept feeding but soon got curious. They started angling my way. I got a clean shot at the second one at 35 yards. The sad part is; after I shot him he flapped down a ravine and into a dirty creek. I could hear him splashing away for few seconds. I pulled him out of water and he looked like drowned rat. Oh well...... Still a trophy and still will taste good!
This is the gobbler my Dad got on Sunday morning the 30th of April. I got mine on Sat so I called this one in for him at 7:30am. This bird came across a field over 250 yards. Once he saw my decoy I shut up and we watched him stroll on in showing his stuff. I was using my new Sceery inflatable decoy. My dad blew it to pieces when he shot his bird!!
Well...... the patch kit that comes w/ the decoy couldn't fix it. Maybe cause it has over 30 holes in it! My Dad got me a new one .... He said it was worth it.
