Here we go -- listed below are some general guidelines to make all of our lives easier as we progress through the school year. I just want to make sure we are all on the same page and understand each other.
GENERAL CLASSROOM RULES:
Basically, there are no hard and fast "rules."  You are asked simply to respect yourself, respect your classmates, and respect your teacher.  You know what this means, so I shall not go into detail.  Essentially, the class is based on each others' ideas, so you are not to be rude or disrespect anyone in the room.  Without this concept, the class will amount to nothing; with this concept, it will be magical.

Come prepared to class.  Don't ask me for a pencil, a pen, or a piece of paper.  I don't have extra school supplies, nor am I Wal-Mart.  Don't ask to go to your locker to get your supplies or books because I won't let you.  Something you need to learn is responsibility, and I, as your teacher, have a responsibility to teach you to be responsible, so come to class prepared.  Also, be on time so we can get things going right away.

Also, you are big boys and girls, so go potty before you come to class.  Make sure you don't fall in, flush, and wash your hands.  Get a drink of water if you need one after you are done.  Then come to class.

GRADING:
Unlike most of your classes, your grade works down rather than up.  At the beginning of the term, I assume you will receive an A in the class.  Your performance in the class is the only thing that will prove my otherwise.  If you fail to complete assignments on time (or entirely!!!) or are late and/or absent excessively, it will knock your grade down.

Don't get me wrong, you will receive grades on your work, your essays, projects, and stuff.  You will have homework.  You will have to read.  You will have to take notes.  You will have to participate in class.  But in the end, you are graded for the work you do.  I might like you a lot, but you might still fail the class.  I might absolutely hate you, but you could still get an A.  It all depends on you.
IT'S SIMPLE:
BE COOL
DO YOUR WORK
AND WE'LL GET ALONG JUST FINE!
