| These ruins typify the terraced-style of Inca settlements. They used the terraces to plant crops. They felt that they should conform to the land, as can be seen by the way they built this settlement into the side of the mountain. |

| While it is impossible to experience the Inca Trail without actually being there, here is a pretty good shot of what it looks like. It is so high in the Andes, that you literally walk amongst the clouds. |
