Sonic Heroes is going to do things Sonic has never done before! For starters, this game is going to be released on all major consoles. So no matter what system you have, Gamecube, Playstation 2 or Xbox, you will be able to enjoy Sonics new game! There is also going to be new gameplay. three characters from the Sonic Series. You can control just one teammate at a time, but with a touch of a button you can switch between the characters. Every team has three "formations". The formations are speed, power and flying. When you are in speed formation you are much faster, when you are in power formation you are stronger, and when you are in flying formation you can fly and attack airborne enemies. Each formation has different things they can do. For example power formation can break blocks and find new routes through the level. Speed formation can take the fastest route through the level, and flying formation can explore the level.

Now for who is in each team. Team Sonic is the team you will probably want to play through the game with first. This team consist of Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. Sonic is speed, Knuckles is power and Tails is flying. In Team Dark , which is more focused on fighting, we have Shadow, Omega and Rouge. Omega is a new character. He is a robot that looks like E-102 from Sonic Adventure. Shadow is speed, Omega is power, and Rouge is flying. Team Rose is the easiest team to play with. Amy Rose, Big the Cat and Cream make up this team. Amy is speed, Big is power and Cream is flying. Team Chaotix have little known characters all from the game Knuckles Chaotix. The teams objectives are more of the exploration type. It has Espio the Chameleon(Who can temporarily disappear thus allowing her to sneak past enemies and walk through laser fences), Vector the Crocodile, and Charmy the Bee. Espio is speed, Vector is power, and Charmy is flight. The formations should add some strategy to the game.

The villain in Sonic Heroes is said to be similar to Metal Sonic, so if you are a fan of him, you will be happy to know they are basing the villain around him.
