RPG Maker

RPG Maker is unique and interesting game. Although alot of your life will be sucked away creating your own RPG's, it's usually worth it.
All of RPG Maker revolves around System and Scenario. System is the dungeons, towns, and the stuff you build. Scenario is comprised of events. Events include messages, switches, screen shift, and much, much more. These are a bit difficult to learn but you will learn them after working with them for awhile. You can do whatever you want! You can create a normal RPG or a crazy RPG where everybody says odd things and you must save an evil monster and kill a princess! It's up to you!
The controls of RPG Maker are a bit hard and often annoying to use. While typing a message you will probably frequently accidentally backspace instead of a regular space. Also, creating towns and dungeons can be time-consuming and boring at times, but then you think about how you are creating your own RPG, and your own game, and it becomes worth it.
The graphics are SNES quality, but it doesn't really matter because tons of great RPG's were on the SNES, so you can almost recreate some of them. The is gameplay is good, but a quality RPG might literally take you hundreds of hours! You make the items, the magic, the monster's stats and the main characters, and almost everything else you can think of!
Another intresting thing in RPG Maker is called Anime Maker. You can create your own characters and monsters for the game, although it is difficult. I don't see how people could make high quality characters, but maybe it's possible if you practice alot.
In conclusion, RPG Maker is a creative and fresh game. The only downfalls are the controls, and the incredible amount of time it takes to create one. But you will have a great time creating it, and the hours will fly by! A great buy if you have alot of free time and don't like to just fly through a game.
