Pokemon Snap

By: Mighty Woman

Pokemon Snap was a gift from a friend who thought I would enjoy the slower pace of Pokemon photography after a rousing game of Super Smash Brothers. He was right! I absolutely adored the chance to take "photos" of delightful Pokemon in a variety of habitats.

The object of Pokemon Snap is to take the best photos you can of as many "wild" Pokemon as you can. After each photo safari, the Professor judges each picture on its originality, closeness and whether it's new to your portfolio. You can revisit the habitats over and over again as you try to get better and better shots.

you go along, the Professor gives you tools, such as apples or a flute, which will cause some Pokemon to perform for better shots. Who knows when you might see a Pikachu surfing or a Magic Carp in a mid-air jump.

The graphics in this game are fantastic. The more you play, the more you can unlock special features and performing Pokemon. I can't tell you the number of times I rode down a river throwing apples in order to catch Psyduck in a particularly unhappy mood.

Although this is an older game, it's well worth getting if you can find it. The only drawback is that it is a one-person game. If anyone else plays, they add photos to your portfolio which can be obnoxious if you are trying to be the first to capture certain shots. I am still ticked off at one person who completed my porfolio before I had a chance to capture a shot of a particularly difficult Pokemon! :)

This game gets a thumbs up from me!
