Went to school: Lewiston Maine and various military associated schools.Duration of schooling: 12 years in high school and 20 years of various courses in the Air Force.
Other types of education: Religious education from grades 3-8, General high school, farm life, and military training.
How teachers taught: Mostly Lecturing
Types of learning experiences: Mostly practical, blue-collar working experiences. A lot of Human-relations and social education while in the military. Divorce is a big learning experience, raising children and living overseas.
Best educational experiences: Any time I was able to study drafting or design.
Worse Educational experience: Learning to read and not know I was dyslexic.
Types of jobs: Paperboy, farm hand, florist's assistant, Janitor, welder, ship fitter, sheet metal worker, manager, and supervisor.
Had an adequate education: No, I was pushed a long in school and could barely read when I graduated High School.
Who are schools for? Everyone
What should kids learn? How to fit in society as a whole. To be part of the world community.
How should they learn it? Any way they can. Every person can be a Teacher - but not every educator IS A TEACHER.
