Alfie and Douggie: When Alfie first arrived in Walford, he pretended to be Chris Wright in order to get the managers job at the Vic and the flat that goes with it. However, ex copper Douggie Slade found out that Alfie was posing under a fake name and threatened to expose his past to Peggy (he was in jail for 3 years for credit card fraud). Alfie didn't want to steal from Peggy to pay Douggie off, so he, Spencer and Nana Moon left the Vic and went to live in a grotty house. Kat persuaded Peggy to go after him and Alfie told her everything, including how he's planned to go to America to start a new life, but after his parents were killed in a car crash, he had to stay behind and look after Spencer. Peggy offered him his job back, and although he refused at first, he was back behind the bar in no time. |

Alfie and the thugs: Spencer had been trying to sell a string of things and Alfie had so far managed to cover up most of his disastors. However, when Spencer sold divers watches for �600, he spent money in a club owned by local gangster Jack Dalton. He then discovered the notes were fake and Jack's thugs were looking for him. Alfie told Spencer that Phil Mitchell had sorted everything out and that night, he went down into the pub armed with a baseball bat. 3 thugs appeared at the door and Alfie bravely told them he was Spencer Moon, and suffered the beating. The next morning he told Spencer that he didn't know the bloke who'd beat him up, and suspected it had something to do with Chris Wright. Only Kat knows the truth. |

Alfie and Nana: With Nana's more confusing state, Alfie has been the only person she can rely on, persuading Spencer to keep it wihtin the family. As Nana Moon got worse and worse, Alfie was forced to carry the heavy weight on his shoulders alone until eventually, Kat found out. Thankfully after an operation, Nana Moon was back to her old self. |

Alfie and Kat: Alfie has been in love with barmaid Kat Slater for months, and was thrilled when she finally told him that she was all his. However, after a bumpy journey their relationship didn't last long, after Alfie became jealous and suspected Kat of seeing her ex, Anthony. Kat was furious and hurt and decided to end it and just stay friends.
After many missed oppertunities Alfie finally got his act together on Kat's wedding day, when she was due to marry Andy Hunter. Alfie burst in on the ceremony and Kat admitted that Alfie was the one for her.
He then proposed but Alfie never does anything easily. He found out that his divorce hadn't gone through. When the divorce papers didn't turn up on Christmas Day, the day of the wedding, Alfie called his mate and arranged for him to pretend to be the registrar. At the last minute Alfie couldn't go through with it and mid way through the ceremony, told Kat the truth. But it was to be a happy ending as the papers arrived in the nick of time and they got married after all! |
