Oil Pan Tap
Now comes the fun part! Tapping the pan!!  Be sure you are using the correct tap as specified by your instruction manual.

Before you actually begin to tap coat it with a liberal amount of grease to catch all the metal shavings that will be cut. You dont want then floating around in your engine!! While starting the tap, be sure to keep it straight! It should be pretty easy to turn once you get started. I ran it all the way down  but if I had to do it again, I would have stopped about 3/4ths of the way and test fitted the fitting.

BEFORE
Once the pan is tapped, you can install the plug. Again, I put a liberal coating of silicon on the threads to help maintain a seal. Dont get slopy with it and get it inside the plug. I applied it a few threads up...

Here is the final product!! I applied alittle extra silicon around the edges to help seal it so there wasnt any chance of a oil leak. After applying the silicon, it is recomenend to let it set up for 24 hours.
AGAIN, this is meant for reference purposes only!! Your instruction manual is there for a reason, use it! If you have any questions, feel free to email me. [email protected]
