I use a variation of the Borax Cure.
First, lets list the ingredients needed: You will need some egg skeins, I prefer chum salmon egg skeins as they have a heavy membrane and they are not as large as king salmon eggs. And, you will need to find some non-iodized table salt & some Borax Laundry Booster.
Next, I open and split the skeins half way, but do cut through them (they need to stay intact), so there is now an even layer of eggs. I place the eggs on a dinner plate, usually they are less in length and width than a dinner plate, and sprinkle a light coat of salt on the eggs (the egg side (not the membrane side) of the skein. This draws liquid from the egg skeins and toughens them. I then place Saran wrap over the eggs and put them in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, I drain the liquid from the eggs and check to see if the eggs have a clear look to them, if not I will sprinkle some more salt on those areas not having the clear look. Now is where curing time is important, I put the eggs back in the refrigerator uncovered and check them morning & night, and rotate them to make sure they are drying equally. This takes two to three days, they need to be rubbery.
Finally, I cut the skeins up into quarter size pieces, work the Borax into the pieces, and then layer them into jars with more Borax and place them in the freezer. They will last for years this way and can be refrozen.
