Rear MKII Sway bar on an MKI: I did this mod once on my 87N/A by adding a 91T rear sway bar. I don't have direct measurements now, but the 87N/A didn't come with a rear sway bar at all, so the additoin of this thicker bar surely helped out. I'm almost sure that the 91T rear bar is thicker than any MKI rear bar produced. It is really left up in the air as to what combination of sway bars is best for the MKI SC or NA. I have heard that the 85MKI has the thickest front bar while the 89SC has the thickest rear bar. I'm going to put on the 91T rear bar with the 89SC front bar and will report my results from auto-x and on the street. And now down to the how to. Sway bar Measurements on my SC taken on 3/30/01 Rear Sway bar - 7/16in Front Sway bar - 11/16in Parts Needed: One MKII rear sway bar One pair of MKII Front Sway bar Brackets and Bushings 4 Bolts to mount to the chassis (same as the front bolts and can be bought at any store) One pair of sway bar links (you can make a set of tie rods too as to adjust preload etc) The install is pretty straight forward. My 87 had exisiting holes on the chassis as well as tabs on the struts. All i had to do was bolt it all together. I simply put the MKII front sway bar bushings and brakets over the sway bar, then simply bolt the sway bar on. I'll report results and take pics when i put it on my Supercharged.

<---- MKII to MKI Sway Bar Mod Here is a picture of the 91T sway bar on my old 87NA. As you can see, the sway bar link is too long because i borrowed the link from the FRONT bar and not the rear one. Using a sway bar link from a rear bar would cure the problem. A link from an MKI is preferred as they are shorter.
New Info: I found out from a fellow MR2 owner that this following mod won't work on the 86 and 85 chassis as the mounting points are slightly different. Sorry about that guys!
