| What new in class? |

Dear Parents: I want to welcome your child, to 4th grade I�m excited about the opportunity to get to know you, as well, and I�m looking forward to a happy and productive school year. This year we will focus on the following curriculum areas: � Math � Science � Health � Social studies � Arizona history � Reading � Writing � And your child will be going to and elective class. Art, P.E. or Band Please have your child bring the following supplies to school before 8/18/08: � 2 boxes of tissue � 2 glue sticks � One index card box 3�x 5� � 1 bottle hand sanitizer or wipes � 1 package of index cards 3 x 5 � Dry erase markers � Old rag or sock to wipe dry erase board � 1 three subject note book My homework policy is that it is up to your child in most cases how much homework they bring home. I do give the students amply time to finish work in class, but on occasions we will not finish and the work will go home as home work . My grading policy is based on percentage. Upcoming school events you should be aware of include: � Parent orientation Tuesday, August 18, 2008 � Labor Day no School Monday, September 1, 2008 � Early Release Day Wednesday, September 3, 2008 � Progress Reports Friday, September 12, 2008 Please mark these dates on your calendar. I hope you will make it a priority this year to attend as many school-sponsored events as possible. We welcome visitors to our classroom, and we always appreciate parents volunteering to help out.
