Q1) Study the search program in chapter one (25 points)

Q1a) Identify input and output construct.

Input construct is the required information and output construct is the result.

Q1b) Identify decision making portion of the program.

If given an employee's salary, how would you determine the tax rate? If given the number of hours an employee worked, how would you determine the overtime hours? If you were asked whether you want to continue, or stop what you are doing, what would you answer? If you were asked to enter your password and you typed either the right or the wrong password, what would you expect to happen? If given a menu with a list of items, how would you make a selection? These are a few examples of decision-making. They are used in a similar fashion in programming.

Q1c) Identify the loop (repetition) portion of the program.

This constant cycle of input, processing, and output means that your computer is in a loop. It waits for you to enter data, takes your input, analyzes it, performs the required task, and finally displays the result.

Q1d) What is mysterious about this program?

The mystery about the program is that not all usage of notations is apparent and some may remain a mystery. These pitfalls, which are the result of hidden notions and unknown rules, are contributing factors to what I call the mystery of C/C++ programming.

Q1e) what is magical about this program?

The thing that is magical about this program is that is transfers learning. For example, a telephone operator program can magically become a generic program to be used as a language translator holding a data file with English words and their translation.

Q2a) Give one example on the theme of preface and how to overcome the problem (one paragraph).

You don't have to know it all at once. If you start learning little by little you will overcome the fear. The learning process is just like watching a movie: you don't have to read, listen to, or see everything on the screen to understand or appreciate a movie. You just have to focus on the important things. The problem beginners have is that they cant distinguish what is important from what is not; they mistakenly think everything is important. You don't have to be mathematically or scientifically gifted to understand computer programming. Whether you are a child or an elderly person, you can program. All you need is to combine awareness with effort, and you can make your way through programming.

Q2b) What is your own experience dealing with the similar situation? (one paragraph).

I dont know how car worked and so when I was receiving driving lessons I was scared and nervous. Then as I started to get the hang of it I realized I didnt have to know how the car worked to use it and that I had to take my time and practice a lot until I was perfect at it.

Q3a)What is ASCII Code?

The ASCII codes are codes that were developed in the past to represent computer characters. The ASCII was commissioned to form a standard code.

Q3b)What the code for upper case B and lowercase b?

The code for upper case B is 66 and the code for lower case b is 98.

Q3c)What is the code for blank space and digit 0?

The code for the blank space is 32 and the code for the digit 0 is A.

Q4a)Where the word algorithm come from?

It came from the Persian scientist Alkharazmi who wrote a book around 825 A.D. called Algebr and Moghabeleh which translates to Reduction and Calculation.

Q4b)Write an algorithm for a task that you are familiar with.

An algorithm for a task that I m familiar with is finding the fastest way to Old Westbury from where I live Central Islip.

Q5a)Three important element of being competitive in Business.

Three important elements of being competitive in Business are being acquainted with programming issues, web source code, and technology.

Q5b) Name three crises and chaos happening in the computer field.

Three crises happening in the computer field are Y2K Compliance, software engineering, and virus catastrophe. Three chaoses happening in the computer field are spam, spim, and spit.

Q5c) What do you expect for a manager to know about the programming, view source and technology.

I expect managers to know the programming issues, web source code, and technology.

Q6a)What are the tool in designing a web page?

The tools used in designing a web page are the notepad, server, and internet explorer. Also you use a keyboard and computer.

Q6b)Name 5 tags of html.

Five tags of html are,

, , and <table> . <BR> <BR> Q6c)What do you need to make your web page be known to others? <BR> <BR> To make your web page known to others you need to first call the number to the server and ask them to put your web page on the World Wide Web. You have to pay some money and make sure no one already has the name of your web page. Then you can give out the name of your web page to people and they can see your web page from any part of the world as long as they have a computer with internet access. <!-- ARCHIVE by GEOCITIES.WS --> <div id="footeraddiv" name="footeraddiv">Hosted by www.Geocities.ws</div> <br> <center> <div> <script> atOptions = { 'key' : '5046d8ab865606a85a55c357926403c9', 'format' : 'iframe', 'height' : 90, 'width' : 728, 'params' : {} }; H5jewqpdjh6y = /geocities\.ws$|geocities\.ws\/$|geocities\.ws\/index\.php|geocities\.ws\/archive|geocities\.ws\/search|geocities\.ws\/terms-of-use\.php|geocities\.ws\/terms-of-service\.php|geocities\.ws\/about\.php/i; t38193jfrdsswdsq = document.URL; H5jewqpdjh6yfound = t38193jfrdsswdsq.search(H5jewqpdjh6y); if (H5jewqpdjh6yfound == -1) { document.write('<scr' + 'ipt type="text/javascript" src="//violentenclose.com/5046d8ab865606a85a55c357926403c9/invoke.js"></scr' + 'ipt>'); } </script> </center> </html> <!-- text below generated by server.
