- Introductions
- Playground – a number of initiatives are under way
- Oct. 14 & 15 – the National Guard will start clearing the asphalt from the kindergarten area and begin filling next to the area and also the basketball area. The Guard will be housed in Melville gym; volunteers will be needed this weekend.
- The SEABEES will begin clearing the wooded area in Dec.
- asphalt and gravel is needed for the current phase of operation
- Melville classroom addition
- to begin after Oct. 1, completion projection Jan. 1
- MPTG schedule of events and chairperson list handed out.
- Calendar discussion – conflict on the 28th of Oct. – Melville festival and high school homecoming, discussion to change Melville festival to the 20th
- Campbell Soup labels, Box tops and Clement’s receipts
- flyer to be distributed, suggestion to purchase media equipment with Campbell labels
- Book Fair
- Nov. 13-16 – Set up Friday, Nov. 10, fair open 2 nights this year, tear down Friday, Nov. 17.
- Arts in Education – theme is Dance this year
- Meeting Oct. 11, noon in the Music room
- Story teller scheduled for Oct. 31, dance troupes scheduled for other months
- VIS (Volunteers in Schools)
- Good return of volunteer surveys; help needed in library and for photocopying
- Treasurer’s Report
- last years report was reviewed and this years budget presented
- School Spirit
- Is making money!
- Sweatshirts now available: adult-$15, child - $13
- Principal’s update
- New school schedule of 45 minute blocks working well
- No mid morning recess
- Scheduled health instruction in place
- Halloween – a performer is scheduled, no party or parade this year
- New staff – K – Mrs. Bedard & Mrs. Alexander, Gr. 4 – Mr. Smith, Miss Belsito moved to Gr.1 and Mrs. Harper is now in the office, Judy Ferrera is the new evening custodian
- Number of new students (30 –35) lowest in years, low numbers due to military housing renovations
- Entertainment Books
- Are to be sent home Sept. 28, the sale will end Friday, Oct. 6, cost is $20.
- Fall Festival
- Planning is on track
- Desperately seeking volunteers
- Parking plan for Festival is in the works
- Cookbooks
- Still available, to be publicized
- Traffic Light
- History work done so far reviewed
- Lisa Bauer is currently working through the state senator, the issue is the cost of the light

- Childcare at meetings
- Looking into Girl Scout troops that might take it on
