September 12, 2001 MPTG Monthly Meeting Minutes

1. Introductions

• Phase 2 complete, MANY thanks to all who helped over the summer.
• Last year's United Way grant has been used, a new grant for this year has been submitted.
• Fundraising for the Playground:
• Allison Serina volunteered to coordinate volunteers for Kiwanis for Newport events.
• Carla Evans mother-in-law donated a quilt to be raffled.
• Two motions made/passed to appropriate money for immediate playground work:
• $600 for fibar
• $800 for hydroseeding

1. Ice Social Friday, Sept. 14, 6:30 p.m.

• Brian Smith, Bryn Weymouth, Mary Stockard, Mosetta Clay volunteered to pick up ice cream and get people to scoop.

1. Pumpkin Festival

• volunteers recruited

1. Treasurer's Report

• Final report for last year distributed, this year's budget presented

1. Principal's Update

• Stanford testing gr. 2&3 over the next two weeks
• volunteers needed to help with preparation for SALT visit Oct. 23-26
• Mrs. Harper is leaving Sept 28, parent will be needed for a hiring committee
• Room parents needed
• Open House Sept. 25

1. Wrapping paper fundraiser extended.
2. Proposal for a Melville service directory discussed, to be explored.
3. Next meeting Oct. 17^th .
4. Adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
