MPTG OFFICER DESCRIPTIONS draft 3/28

President or Co-Presidents:


1) Presides at all regular and steering committee meetings of the group
2) Appoints all committee chairmen
3) Calls all special meetings
4) Signs checks with treasurer as required and all official documents of the group
5) Represents the MPTG on public occasions, reviews all MPTG correspondence, newsletters, and grants prior to distribution and publication
6) Chairs next years budget workshop
7) Attends Portsmouth's School Committee and Portsmouth's Town Council meetings if MPTG interests are at stake
8) Acts as liaison between the school staff and the group's activities.

Vice President or Co-Vice Presidents:


1) Assumes the duties of the president in the absence of the president
2) Assumes the office of the president when inability or resignation requires
3) Coordinate scheduling of MPTG events to avoid conflicts with the other Portsmouth schools
4) Report MPTG events to Portsmouth School Department for inclusion in Portsmouth School's Master Calendar
5) Coordinates or delegates responsibilities for all MPTG sponsored social functions

Secretary:
1) Keeps a record of all regular MPTG meetings
2) Conducts general correspondence (including Thank You notes, etc)
3) Notifies members of all meetings
4) Publishes summary MPTG minutes by Email, if possible
5) Obtain and file Portsmouth School Committee meeting minutes and report on matters of importance to the MPTG

Treasurer or Co-Treasurer:


1) Maintains custody of all funds of the MPTG
2) Reports the financial standing of the MPTG at general meetings
3) Pays all bills approved by the MPTG
4) Keeps a record of all monies
5) Disperses money based on approved budget
6) Obtain second signature of president/co-president or Principal
7) Obtain receipts for a all reimbursements and expenditures
8) Support next years budget workshop
